Smeagol

Sure... give him a ring of invisibility, too. I'm sure Skyrim's lore could be adapted to easily fit it in.

Would you guys like to see a smeagol like character or creature in Skyrim from Lord of the Rings? I think if this creature is not a character, I would like to see creatures along the lines of trogs from Fallout 3's the pit DLC

No....thankyou.

I didn't say it was. Just pointing out how ridiculous it is for someone to say TES doesn't need Middle Earth is so obviously influenced by it. Take away the LotR influence and TES would be a shell of what it is.

That's not what they said. They said TES was better, not TES would be exactly the same (or even exist) without Middle Earth's influence. It wasn't even insinuated. You insinuated that you were opposing their view with your argument however, hence my post.

The trogs would be cool. I like the idea of devolved, cannibalistic sub humans. Two good movies that have creatures like that are The Descent and Pandorum.

Nirn=/=Middle Earth
to be honest
Nirn>Middle Earth

P.S. Although having Adorable fan with some screws missing (most probably because Grand Champion left him to die) would be amusing

No. Just... no. To both the Adorable fan as Gollum idea and the horrible incorrect statement about Nirn being better than Middle Earth. Without Middle Earth, there would be no Nirn. Therefore Middle Earth>Nirn. That is all. :icecream:

Nothing would exist how it does without any number of things, doesn't mean something created later is inferior to any one of it's influences.

To any of those who said that Nirn is better than Middle-Earth...did you know it apart from what is portrayed in the movies? Do you really know what is there to be learned before making judgement of how it's better or worse? If not I suggest you go look up for it....

The nowadays Falmers, which have dwellt in cave for millenia and lost a non-negligible part of their nobility, already pretty much resemble Gollum in my opinion... If you want a specific NPC, possibly a questgiver, or at least one with whom you can talk, who would be like Gollum, then I'll answer by saying I would love Falmer NPCs with whom you could have a talk...

Possibly an easter egg in the Volcanic Tundra.

I would love to see it like that. Or deep in a cave, and the only item on him is an enchanted ring labled "The Precious". :P

I'd like to see less LOTR-related topics instead of more. LOTR surely has a lot of influence on all contemporary fantasy stuff, but I think the Elder Scrolls universe offers enough by itself.

It's also funny how anyone can take anything seriously in a thread entitled "Smeagol" on the official Skyrim forum.

I'd prefer it in a cavern deep beneath a mountain on in island in the middle of a lake.

I agree with this, maybe if he were killable, we could loot him and find a ring with a chameleon enchantment lol.

There could be an easter egg about it, but the thing shouldn't be called smeagol and behave like it. Only one of the things. Such as a skooma dealer called smaagoll or a odd fellow living in a cave fishing with his hand and attacking berserkly on sight, without any name attached to him other than "crazy man".

the current wielder of Umbra should be deformed and gangly.. thats what the sword should do to the user over time... slowly steal their soul until they look like Raziel.

Guess you don't know what it means when I said that it wouldn't exist in any recognizable form. It means that it would exist, but be different. Tolkien brought together a lot of folklore that wasn't done before. It is widely recognized that Tolkien is what made modern fantasy what it is today.

I must concur.
