The Lord of Vampires: The DayWalker and Becoming One

Post » Sat Sep 17, 2011 12:27 pm

The strongest and original vampire, the vampire lord will have the ability to walk amongst humans in the daytime. What if some way you can contract his disease through fighting him and obtain the power to walk in daylight. Of course, as a vampire he would not be left without his appetite of blood to regain his abilities; he will still have vampire vulnerabilities but some may be different since he is a daywalker. With a more responsive A.I turning a whole town into vampires would be a difficult task if you are recognized as one by townspeople. Whether curse or mutation is the cause of vampirism being a daywalker is that next evolution. Would this be a concept worth looking into? Would you like to be able to have you own army of vampires at your disposal and infect a whole unsuspecting town? I will read any suggestions and respond to that detail how this concept could be more appealing for the game. Please gaming community I need your support to bring this idea to life.

And please do not be a noob giving brief and obvious answers; I need to take the good with the bad criticism with thoroughly typed explanations its helpful for the learning process.

Thank you

No, what would be the down side? If you were a Day-Walker you would pretty much never need to feed and you can just run around destroying with no down side.

The whole concept of a Vampire is to be a cursed, supernatural being. You gain great powers but also great weaknesses.

That's why Cyrodiilic Vampires or Daywalkers are just lame.

Independantely of what powers vampirisim gives you, it's still a disease.
A disease is supossed to be something harmful to the player, even though vampirism is diferent to other diseases in the sense that it has a major efect in gameplay (Beyond stats) and ridiculous increases in stats.
The fact that it is a disease means it can be contracted, this means what you effectively have to do is get hit by a vampire.
In other words you get ridiculous increases in stats just by getting hit by a vampire and surviving the battle in some way.
In my opinions getting hit by a monster doesen't justify gaining a major stat increase UNLESS it has some sort of trade off.
For the sake of balance the daylight damage and npc interaction changes (Rejection) are a great weight on what is the balance of vampirism.
This doesn't mean I'm against the idea of a vampire lord. As long as you do something hard enough to justify the stat increase without the disadvantages, this could be done in a couple of ways, such as making the vampire lord a very rare and hard to fight mob, or relate it to some quest.

It could work... there would have to be a handicap obviously... hmmmm, oh how bout

There are vials of blood for sale from vampire or other seedy merchants, by consuming them periodically (1 day) you gain immunity to sunlight for the duration
oh course I would be fine with just doing an epically long quest that at the end would reward me it, would have to be a eight hour quest tho :toughninja: tis a long and ardurous journey my friends if you want to rock'n'roll :mohawk:

they confirmed that Cyrodilic Vamps were returning, although their mechanics may be changed up a bit (like feeding making you stronger, not weaker).

I agree, there must be some sort of vampire lord or something having much more power compared to other vampires and this can be easily implemented seeing as the vampire system will have levels. But I'd expect their weaknesses to grow with the level too, for example a vampire lord takes much more damage from the sun per second than a normal low level vampire.
