little story I made

Post » Sun Sep 18, 2011 9:40 am

I made this for the thread on dispatching 10 bandits. However I thought it was pretty decent so I wanted to share it with everyone who doesn't take a look at every page in a thread (lets face it alot of people don't xD) Read it if you want. If you don't....don't? :D

The Warrior walks down the cold mountain pass towards the ambush point. Fresh fallen snow crests the top of the dirt road as he makes his way down. The slight crunching of his thick metal boots against the the gravel dampened by the snow. Walking further down he stops, what could be wrong? The snow to the side of the path is disturbed, could the warrior see it? A few faint boot prints, since filled somewhat by the freshly fallen snow lead over a small mound to the side of the path. That idiot mage must've done it Duh'ra thought. He had spoken out against bringing a magic user on the mission, they weren't exactly know for be light footed and silent. But the Dunmer in charge of the operation was able to win the opinions of the rest of the group stating he was merely backup if they needed some extra firepower. No one had questioned the mage further, being affiliated with bandits and reeking of death all could tell he was a necromancer and wanted nothing more to do with him. Duh'ra's legs tensed back, their victim was no longer unsuspecting, now was the time to strike, before he could draw his weapon and get into a defensive stance. At this point in time he was glad the leader of the band had told him to take a position opposite of the main group in the bushes. Damn the dark elf and his signal he thought, it's not use once they know. And with that he acted.

A slight rustling among the frozen shrubbery was the last needed indication something is amiss. A blur of light brown fur shoots out from the foliage, a flash of silver light reflecting off the metal the only hint at the murderous intent involved in the moment. The blade thrusts's eagerly for Chaz's exposed throat, and suddenly it stops with the ring of metal on metal. At first there is a moment of silence as the ring of the metal slowly fades into a quiet mountain echo. The khajit's eyes grow wide with sudden realization as he views the situation. A moment ago the warrior stood silent on the mountain pass staring toward the mound, during that time his sword was sheathed. Duh'ra never took much time noticing the details of his opponent, but he had known that much for sure. In the life of a bandit, you always wanted your opponent to be unaware when the first strike hit. But, it was impossible to be sure. Because now in front of him stood the warrior, blade in hand held horizontally, He had parried the thrust, so quick that even Duh'ra; a khajit, hadn't been able to follow the movement. Now Duh'ra's dagger rested against the edge of the blade.

The next few moments seemed like much longer as Duh'ra took in the details of his opponent. He wablondonde imperial around the height of 6 feet, he wore steel armor that shined like silver, imperial fashioned. The briastplate showed gold gilding that outlined its edges. In its center there was a heavily detailed engraving of wings. A tattered blood red cloak descended down his back, though it seemed to have had a tough battle with the elements, the faint golden outline of the same symbol on chest-platelate was visible. What disturbed the khajit the most was mans eyes, sky blue in color the bulbs seemed to be a window to the man's soul. The warrior was staring intently at him. Duh'ra eyes shifted to the sword that had blocked his blow. A fine steel hand and a half sword. It setailed a golden engraving of vines traveling down the blade to the pommel, where a red ruby was set in its center. No, not a warrior thought Duh'ra. "Paladin" He gasped finally. It was the last word he ever spoke.

Chaz withdrew his blade cleanly from the Khajit's chest; he didn't take time to watch the miserable creature slump to the ground, turning quickly and with a quick movement his sword deflected an arrow that would have hit his head. There was another moment of silence when he eyes locked on the dunmer at the end of path holding the recently released bow. Then the elf mustered his willower and barked a command. The silence of the mountain pass quickly faded as the path erupted into violence.

From over the snow mound the rest of the band came. Seven in all. nine thought Chaz with the addition of the duntheand thje Khajit. they came at him like savage animals. No real style in their movements. These people has been born poor, forced to get by means of violence against others. They had never needed much knowledge of combat before, against the lonely trader or traveler on the road the bands numbers proved to be more than a sufficient trade for skill. Until now.

The first to come at him was an bosmer who was quick on his feet but not with his mind. He attempted to sidestep around the paladin to thrust at himshort swordshortsword but with a quick movement Chaz stuck outslightlyt slihgtly and sent him toppling to the ground, the next bandit came at him from the side wildly swinging a medium sized mace but Chaz grabbed onto his head with his gauntleted hand then, allowing the magic to flow through his palm set the man ablaze and shoved him down onto the bosmer who was attempting to recover.

The death screams of the members of the band did not seem to affect the rest of themtheyver as theys till came at him full force. A redguard with a hatcher went for a strong overhead swing only to find the paladins blade had lodged itself in the gap under the blade and with a twisting movement sent it flyiredguard'she redguards hand. The pommel of the sword cracking over his was the last sensation he felt before falling to the ground unconscious.

Another arrow whistled by the paladins heads as he croucsimultaneouslyimaulteanously using his left hand to shieldis kite sheild from its place under his cloak and bring it up just in time to block another Bandits chop. This one was an Orc with lime green skin, two fangs protunder bitem an underbite from his jaw. He leaned the great swordhis greatsword further into the shield, as if he were attempting to push past it. He didn't see it when a right handed silver knuckled gauntlet cracked against and broke his lower right fang along with the rest of his jaw.

Another Dark elf, this ones skin of a lighter shade of blue than the archers, cwieldingim duel weilding iron short swords. He wore think leather armor that allowed him to move quickly and precisely. Had he been a better swordsman Beens would have ben put to use greatly toUnfortunatelyge. Unfortunatly he was not, and to his surprise the paladin before him could move surprisingly fluidly even in his plate mail. He couldn't find an opening in the paladins defenses. Every nick and thrust he attempted was easily batted away by his opponents quick sword. One thrust through him off balance and he saw the blade moving towards his gut as if it was in slow motion. In that time he wondered why his life did not flash before his eyes as people said it would an thought maybe he couldancestorsof his anscetors in a moment. However the moment did not come. It a clang of metal the dunmer looked to see the Nord had come to his aid and deflected thgreat swordh his greatsword. And to thinkprivately spoken privatly to the group on his objections to brining the orc and nord along!

His alleviation did not last long however as he was soon back in the fray supporting the nord. While the Nord would make large sweeping motions to keep the paladin back. The dunmer would make his attacnord's between the nords swings in order to prevent a counterattack. They were pushing the paladin back! His eyes glanced quickly to the end of the path and he saw the band leader nocking another arrow. With a smile he nodded at the nord who seemed to acknowledge the situation.

The Chaz could see what they were planning. It seemed so curious that they would make these kind of gestures at each other and expect him not to notice. The dark skinned dunmer with the bow had another arrow prepared. He tensed and waited for when they made their move. Then it happened, the duel wielding bandit tried to dodge to the left and with a quick movement Chaz swung his left arm out clubbwithim in the head witht he shield. While duel wielding weapons made for quick attacks and recoveries it left much to be desired in the area of defense should he have attempted to block the shield with his blades he would have just ended up cutting his own face to ribbons.

Chaz was already making his next move before his last was finished. Before the dunmer even hit the ground he leapt towards the nord thrusting with his blade.

The bandit didn't have enough time to react, not expecting sucouldn'tdden movement he couldnt bring his large sword to bear quickly enough to even attempt to stop the blow. There was a sickening thud in his chest. It felt like he had been kicked by a horse. Looking down he could see the blade sunk deep into his chest. His vision was growing blurry and his body felt really, truly cold. He felt himself get yanked to the side and felt another fist hit his back damn elf he thought as he slipped away.

Chaz looked across the field, a total of four of the bandits were killed. There were two still burning slightly in a pile to his right, by the bushes lay the khajit or initiated the ambush and in front of him was the lying on his belly with an arrow protruding from his back. Behind him he could he the rasped breathing of the redguard and the orc. The only person left standing was the dunmer archerfledthe others must have fleed[/i] he thought. Apparently the bandit came to this same conclusion and after a quick look around the field. started to turn and run. Chaz was about to set off after him when the dunmer suddscreaminged and starting screamiinfrozenquickly wildly at a forzHowever around his ankle.

Howevor Chaz soon realized it wasn't a vine at all, but a skeletal hand grasping around his ankle. He was kicking at it viciously, screaming for his life. the whole time looking straight at the snow mound the others had come from. Finally a cloaked figure emerged from behind the mound and with a gesture red and black energy emerged from the dunmer causing him to tremble violently until finally going still. There was a crackle of energy and Chaz looked behind him to see the same thing happening with the unconscious bandits. their life force being drained out of them. Once all was still again he turned to look directly back at the cloaked figure; the necromancer.

With another gesture from the necromancer, green energy seeped into the corpses of the bandits. Slowly, they started to rigidtheir muscles moving in ridgid jerks. Soon all were back on their feet. Hunched, in feral stances. All Chaz noticed; but those he has set on fire. With a smile he channeled his energy into his sword, sheathing it in a furious flame.

Wall of Text....

The lack of people capable of thought that extends past 4 sentences on the internet worries me. Also 'Wall of Text' is usually a term we reserve for people who don't know how to use the damn enter key on keyboard and make a new paragraph

Like how I did right here. See notice my new paragraph is now lower and spaced a line apart from the old one. this disrupts the 'wall of text' and makes reading bearable

Wall of Text....

Umm...no, that is definitely not a wall of text.

Is that a word-Atronach?

Yes, Atronach is a word in TES. It refers to a type being that you can summon or create like the Fire, Frost, and Storm Atronachs.
