Too old for skyrim....

I am 30 years old, single, no children and work 20 hours a week in shifts. I find the time to play games.

im 23 and just got done with a three year stint in the army. playing games just kind of allows me too leave all that behind and immerse myself in another world to have a brief respite of the troubles we all endure. what you have to do is recapture that feel of being a different person in this world behind the screen. if you dont have an outlet these days you might go insane.

*snip*
I even told my midwife that when I start having contractions, I'll be playing video games (meaning Skyrim) to take my mind off it.

LOL, your son is going to be tied to TES before he's even born :D

I have to get ready for work and don't have the time to read through all the posts or pages, but...

I'm 34, seven months pregnant, and a happily married home-owner. Lately my life has been all about this:

...

It will give you something to do when you are feeding the little one at 2:00 AM (I'm a guy but I still pulled my shift when mine came along :)).

I get tired of hearing gamers whine about getting old. I'm a fifty-eight year old gamer. I have a twenty-one year old daughter. I play video games when I feel like it and when I don't feel like it, I don't. It's as simple as that, folks. Do it or don't do it, but don't waste your life moaning about it. Do what makes you happy and get on with your life.

Do what you feel.... at 26 I highly doubt I will play more than 1 or 2 hours a week as well. If at all.

But thats life right? Much more important stuff to do

I have actually found that I enjoy games more as I have grown up, to be honest. I am nearing my mid-30's, trying to finish college, I have a job that I work anywhere from 50-60 hours a week (with no overtime pay and an hour commute each way :sadvaultboy: ), and a wife and two kids (six and three) on top of it. I do not get to play games nearly as much as I used to, nor nearly as much as I would like, but if anything I treasure the few hours a week I can sit in my computer chair and disappear into another world.

Even if I have to do it with headphones on because my daughter's bedroom is directly above the office....

Lol, sounds best through headphones anyway.

I'm 37, four kids 12 and under, and self employed, but I manage to find a few hours of peace on a night, so I'm still looking forward to Skyrim. I'm not as manic about fantasy as I was when I was younger, but I'll never get sick of it.

Heh,

OP, it just means that while those with ore free-time get to rush through the game, you get to savor it for a couple years on your first playthrough!

It works doing one cave/dungeon/quest at a time

I wouldn't worry about what others think. I'm 38 and have been playing video games since the Atari 2600 was released. Yes, life comes first and I sometimes don't get to play as much as I want. Being an 'advlt' has nothing to do with it. advlt means that you are capable of recognizing priorities. If you are playing Skyrim instead of changing your childs diaper.... then there is a problem. If you are playing Skyrim when you have those precious moments to yourself.... Thats good. There are plenty of advlts that do REALLY childish things, like going out and getting drunk every night or wasting their paychecks on the 130th pair of shoes which they never end up wearing more than one time. Playing a video game is no more 'childish' than watching a movie, reading a book, or playing a game of chess with a friend.
