Graphic comparison: Minecraft vs Crysis 2

Post » Sun Sep 18, 2011 4:03 pm

Hey guys,

i thought it would be a good idea to compare Crysis 2 and Minecraft because they look very similar.

Minecraft 1.8 Misas Texture Pack 64x64:

Crysis 2 1.9 - Extreme Settings dx9 + Hi-Res Texture Pack:

So the only fix I actually know is to activate dx11, which costs a lot of performance, or to change the "Object" settings everytime I start the game. I can't understand that crytek says, that they won't patch crysis 2 anymore on the PC when I see these pixelated textures.

Do you guys know any other possible fix and what do you think about Crytek's decision to stop patching Crysis 2?

Bye

Hmm it's a close call maybe if you enable DX11 on Minecraft I think it looks better

Yes! Have a look at this screenshot:

It looks totally awful. Even Call of Duty looks better than this pixelated **** :)

Yeah, I've alreade tried it. The textures aren't pixelated anymore but it doesn't look much better.

But then again, the real world looks pretty blocky also on an atomic scale, wonder when they patch it.

you need to enable Anisotropic filtering from the control panel of your graphics driver.

Minecraft sold more on one single platform than Crysis 2 did on all platforms. :p

I bet Crytek wish they had 3 million copies of Crysis 2 on the PC.
