Your Preferred Healing Method?

Post » Mon Sep 19, 2011 1:02 am

What's your main method of healing your health while in fights? In Oblivion I found it a bit hard to heal while being in a close to death situation at the start of the game because the health potions were a bit too costy for a character that was just starting, so I basically had no choice but to use some restoration magic while wielding weapons (crusader style). Also another question, in Oblivion you could use magic by pressing 'C' (on PC anyways) while holding a 1H weapon and a shield. Can we use spells in skyrim when we're holding a 2H weapon or 1H + Shield combination, just like Oblivion?

In a fight i try to use potions or any other item that gives/restores some health...out of battle restoration magic!

I seriously doubt that we can use magic in combat if you hold a 2 hander or a shield 'n sword!

Restoration. I prefer to have fortify and resist potions.

Potions.

Restoration magic is something I used often, but it simply was so bad it wasn't worth it most of the time.

Might as well just slap on a patch instead :<

Well, not food.

I'm fairly convinced that the plausible healing rate for foods is measured in units less than a point per minute.
I prefer potions when I need health over time, and magic for quick effects. Not that I PLAY it that way, but it's the way I'd prefer to have to play.
(and yes, sometimes I want a longer duration healing over time effect while fighting. Namely if I'm trying to hit and run)

Potions

I would love to use restoration magic to heal during battle, but I never got my restoration skill high enough to have a good spell that isn't too expensive to use. I can't cast restore health +8 10 times during battle you know....

I'll probably use potions mostly, my first character is going to be a ranger type so some alchemy will be her preferred healing type.

to answer your other question: no you need to equip magic in your hand to use it. Though you can use dragon shout magic with your hands full.

I have always modded out the healing properties of food. Never ate an apple and watched a scratch on my arm disappear.

Potions. They were stronger than my restoration magic and hotkeyed were quicker.

In Skyrim, since you have to equip the spell to a hand you can't use with 2H or 1H + Shield combo.

The answer to that question is no.

When it comes to healing I just drink potions I make myself.

I always keep several bottles of Restore Health on hand along with my 3 favorite poisons: Damage Health, Damage Health+Paralyze, & Damage Health + Damage Magicka.

I only really used restoration magic because of the easy ways to get 100 in magic skills in Oblivion so I just went and made my own spell that would heal like 100 points for 10 seconds.
