I'm a little confused about Umbriel.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I was a little unsure as to where to put it =/
Am I right in thinking it's like a floating city of the dead? Can anyone correct/expand on this, apologies for my ignorance. I did look on the wiki but it didn't say a great deal about it, just wondered if anyone knew any more information about it :D

This would be better placed in the elder scrolls lore forum :)

Yeah it's this, but it's around 200 years before Skyrim is set anyway.
Oh, and don't waste your time reading it, a lot of the stuff in the Fan Fiction section of the forum is better.

I actually really enjoyed it. I liked most of the characters, the expansion of the lore, and much more. The fate of... well, it added to my Dunmer characters backstory when Skyrim comes around. Second book is very nearly released, and i've had it on pre-order for over a month.

I also don't see why you use fanficton as such a comparison, as if that shows how 'bad' it was. Some is pretty bad, yes, but so are some published works. However some fanfiction is utterly brilliant, and often has more passion in it as its a labor of love rather than a job. To write a 200k word fanfiction because you love a series is true dedication.

It was a fun read. If you really want to absorb the information, just get the book. Can't be that expensive nowadays. Heck, just checked amazon.com, and it looks like you can get it for ~$10. Also, it did hold my attention, which gives it a good thumbs up from me.

Spoilers

Spoiler
Umbriel is literally a chunk of Clavicus Vile's Realm. It's ruler, (Can't remember his original name right now. Starts with a V), got on CV's good side and ended up attempting to free it from the realm. As far as we know, it's still in a kind of Daedric bubble and he's trying to release it.
