This is maybe getting off topic, but what started this trend for some modders to host only at TES Alliance and not TES Nexus? Nexus obviously has a number of advantages, so was there some kind of TOS issue or something?
Spooky got really cheesed off with all the people who did not bother reading his readme, or dissed his mod when another mod in combination was to blame and spooky does not support solving peoples load orders. As he says try the mod with just vanilla oblivion before telling him there's a problem with the mod.
TESAlliance became his choice of site for hosting because as a mod author it offered better control, and a less diverting (read time-wasting) experience for him, where that time can be better spent actually modding instead of answering the same questions over and over because people cant be bothered to read first.
Thats about it really. He pulled his mods from TESNexus and has been a happier more productive bunny since. Thats the same reason I disallowed comments on TESNexus for the Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide .. It would have been a constant stream of Installing Wrye Bash and Python questions and more than likely a lot of down repping the guide did not deserve. Alienslof used to do the same with her mods ... Talk to the readme.
Things have changed for the better on TESNexus since with a few tweaks since the site re-design, but once comments have been previously disallowed the author cannot reverse that decision - Its permanent. As is allowing them.
Edit: Uhm, back on topic - I'm a Combat Archery freak too
