I really hope they're more creative than the ones in Oblivion. Those were just for doing things you'd do anyway; it should be things to inspire you to play differently, like in Portal 2. There are a TON of funny achievements in Portal 2, but they still manage to give you a few for getting through the story.

I think something like 'find every nirnroot' would be a nice challenge, that otherwise has no reward. Or a funny one could be 'kill a werewolf with a broom'. And they could give them funny titles. Or maybe some would be pointing you in the direction of easter eggs, like one could be 'avenge svenja and kill the Udrefytke' (I cannot spell that) but things like that would make an excellent addition to an already amazing game.

Oh wait, I have another one 'get arrested and avoid going to prison for running through Whiterun naked'. Stuff like that. If they haven't made them already, they could always put it in a nice little DLC.

This, and I hope they don't bloody pop up on my screen while playing.

I still don't understand why people are annoyed bye the small, one or two second popups... seriously, its not that bad, no need to complain about it

People definitely have different preferences, and rightfully so.
It's just that I think a game should reward you with the gameplay, story and feel, not some pointless and meaningless "rewards" like achievements.
Example: You should not be rewarded with an achievement for reading all books in the game, the reward is the stories and lore those books contain.

It certainly doesn't help that most achievements are stupid, like "Reach level 10", "Kill 100 enemies" or "Kill your first boss". Stuff that you do anyway, just playing the game.

As for seeing your own body and feet in first person, have you ever played a game where they did that?
Personally, I feel it makes your character feel so much more real, the same way casting a shadow does, or how sprinting makes your character pant. You are not just a floating camera.
Sadly, I can only remember having played one game recently which has this, which was Mirror's Edge. But this is offtopic!

It's not all about feeling rewarded for getting the achievement. I understand that there are people that just want to have a great RP experience (I know I do!), but I don't understand how achievements "ruin imersion" for Role Players.. when I get bored, achievements help sate that boredom with a small challenge and imo, getting an achievement just feels really good

I disagree. Oblivion is the only game where I've gotten -every- achievement. I want people to see that I love this series on my profile. So I want it Oblivion style. Every rank of every guild, every major turn in the main quest.
Maybe a few extra thrown in.

If all the achievements were easy to get, it wouldn't really show that you loved the series by getting them all. Just saying :l

To stay on topic~ I want to see something like "Avoid killing *insert important NPC's name here* in *so-so main quest*" and have it be next to impossible to avoid it. :P

I have always thought that Achievements should be for stuff you extra in the game, ok, people are gonna want achievements for progress in the main story and maybe for major quest lines like the guilds, but i dont want all of the Achievements given away for checkpoints that most players (or even casual players) are gonna do anyway...

... want achievements for things that are really difficult and require adventure off of the beaten path, for collecting things, for things that take time and/or planning

PLEASE NO EASY ACHIEVEMENTS!

I'll admit my view of achievements is colored by their impact on WoW, but bleah! Take something idiosyncratic and fun, call it an achievement, and it's an item on a checklist. Before achievements, a few crazies who found them amusing collected pets. Post-achievements everyone collected pets. Before achievements, holidays were fun. Post-achievements holidays became grinds characterized by sour tempers and greed. I much prefer self-directed gaming.
