FPS drops when I'm in-doors

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 8:27 am

Especially when I'm in buildings, like a house or a guild. Take note that I'm running this game on very low, but I turned off lite bright in the console commands to make it more bearable on the eyes. Of course, this also makes the game a bit choppy, and it becomes noticeable when I'm in-doors. With lite bright off, everything runs smooth, even if I'm in a house. Any way to make it less choppy in-doors besides turning on lite bright?

Try turning of Anti-aliasing. It smooths out rough edges and indoors has many edges very close to the character.

Note: I dont know this for sure, just a guess.

Good luck.

I think it is off. I always do turn off anti-aliasing on all of my games.

NPCs make even the most powerful PCs FPS plummet. If you're running on very low, chances are there is nothing you can do around groups of NPCs to increase FPS, apart from turning brite-lite mode on or reducing the resolution further.

Ah, so the NPCs are the culprits. I thought it might have something to do with the lighting effects. Shame there's nothing that can be done about it.

Well, lighting effects may contribute to the problem as well. Practically everything in the cell will contribute a bit to slowing the FPS. But, as SomeWelshGuy says, AI is usually the biggest culprit.
