My ideas of H2H perks

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 5:24 pm

I myself am disappointed that there will not be any H2H perks available. Don't take this as a thread on complaining because I am extremely excited for Skyrim. I do believe that someone should mod perks for hand to hand combat though. These are some of my ideas, I would like to see what you guys think about some ideas i quickly jotted down for possible perks for hand to hand combat. If you have something you want to change or add feel free to post. Who knows, maybe a modder will see this and get something together for us when Skyrim is released.

Disarm- A small % chance that you will disarm an opponent momentarily upon blocking with hand to hand.

Kick- A kick to the target that forces the opponent to stumble back to regain footing, effective when being overrun by a relentless attacker. Possibly higher ranks disorient target for longer durations. (probabaly a power attack while moving backwards)

Catch Arrows- A small % chance to be able to catch arrows while blocking.

Quivering Palm - A powerful attack that damages the opponent's fatigue

Heavenly Fist- A powerful attack that damages the opponent's magicka

Serpent Strike- A powerful attack that reduces opponent's health regeneration or possibly adds poison to the strike.

Hidden Fist- Reduces the chance of being detected while taking down an opponent while stealthed.

Trained- Reduces the amount of fatigue used while in hand to hand combat.

the perks that are more powerful like catch arrows and such should have penalties if the person is using anything heavier than light armor probably.

Great ideas, I don't really care either way if H2H is a skill now but IMO the more skills the better and the more choices the better.

I like the catch arrows perk :icecream:

thanks guys, are there any modders out there who know whether or not this is feasible? Adding animations is the hard part most likely.

the skill might be impossible to implement, because you couldnt do it in Oblivion and I am pretty sure you couldnt do it in Fallout and Morrowind, the perks you might be able to fit under 2H weapons but we have no idea how the system actually works

I have seen custom perk mods for fallout 3. Not sure what you are getting at? If I misunderstood please reiterate.

Even though I never liked hand to hand and I'd never use it even if it was modded in, you've got some good ideas there friend! Hopefully a modder will make it for you!

Doesn't this kind of stuff need a kind of global script on the player on every hit ? Quest scripts were awful to use in oblivion. :cryvaultboy: and probably still need an script extender.

custom perks in fallout 3 is easy but in skyrim it uses a totally different system, because it has that whole constellation thing it is much more than a picture a description and a setvalue to 1. Basically it is a new system so no one really knows yet

Skills not perks. Perks would probably be easy to add, but I've never seen a mod that adds any skills to Morrowind, Oblivion, or Fallout 3.
