What kind of loot is in store for us?

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 8:42 pm

Hey everyone!

What kind of loot are we going to be able to get our hands on? I thought the random loot in Oblivion was good but not really all that varied (at least on the 360) My hopes are that there is some really good loot for us console owners who do not have access to the awesome mods that PC gamers will be enjoying.

Thoughts?

Personally I hope they retain the OB style "pick a Hard lock only to find Yarn and Calipers" loot tables. :flamethrower: :flamethrower:

I made a mod where I incorporated random locks on chests, with the more powerful enemy chests having higher locks. So Very Easy up to Average chests in Bandit lairs and mostly Very Hard locks with some Average and Hard locks in high level Vampire caves etc. I also made the harder locks have a higher percentage chance of getting loot, so those Very Hard and Hard chests were good ones to find.

I hope they take this kind of approach.

I wondered something pertaining to items that I didn't really see, do any of the random useless items have prices now or are they there just to be there like OB?

I'm hoping its more like Morrowind, I remember getting suprised alot by good gear in that game. Oblivion not so much, iron and steel long-swords, that's it, over and over and over. No thank you.

If I don't find a valueless bent fork in every hard to open chest I find I will be very put out.

I just hope loot makes more sense. Things with no value really don't need to be locked up do they?

Random named items with magical effects. But with more variety than Oblivion please. And maybe Terraria-styled accessories?

I hate locks.

A room full of locked chests and boxes was my worst nightmare.

I knew they were full of junk, but I couldn't just walk out of the room, knowing that perhaps, PERHAPS there lay some epic, super fancy artifact in one of those chests, and so I was FORCED, to go through a horrendeously boring, pain-staking, brain killing lock picking session to open EVERY-SINGLE-BOX.

I HATED locked boxes! :flame:

I HOPE EVERY SINGLE LOCKED CHEST AND BOX BURNS IN HELL!

Hopefully it is also more like fallout 3 along with just the enemy scaling. In that game it was easy to find good weapons and armor.

I have said it time and time again but I want nocturnal's daedric shrine quest to reward you with a lantern that darkens an area rather than lightens it now that lanterns are brought back.

Indeed! What I want for things that are not worth anything at all to be stuff that is actually junk / broken... like a broken jug or some useless rusty thing, otherwise everything should have a price.

I think everything should be less about the difficulty of the chest and more about the power of the character. I don't want to be just starting the game use my experiance of manual lock picking open a hard lock and the best [censored] armour in the game be right there. That would just be boreing. But I do wish there is some hidden super worrior like umbra to be hidden in a cave.

I just hope there's lots of unique loot. I can deal with opening hard locks to find junk, but it'll begin to annoy me if I find Iron Sword after Iron Sword after Iron Sword...
