What should I get Skyrim for?

Post » Wed Sep 21, 2011 8:32 am

I played MW for the o.g Xbox, and then i played OB for 360. I have been upgrading my PC to play on Max settings, and I'm pretty much set (I think). But I have never played a game on a PC. So, is it "THAT" much better on PC then console? I have only played on Xbox, I like talking to my friends on LIVE when I get back from midnight release. I like the whole overall feeling of gaming on a console. So I'm scared that the PC gaming will feel too "alien" to me. So what are your thoughts and please don't start a war, this isn't the point of this topic. I'm really leaning towards PC right now, but betraying my Xbox makes me feel like a bum. Any thoughts/ opinions?

I would get the PC version, and thats coming from a console player. I'm pretty sure you can just plug in a 360 controller anyway and map it. Mods add so much to the experience. I have Morrowind for PC and it just adds so much. I would get PC.

There is literally NO disadvantage to playing on the PC in this case, since you can use a 360 controller with this game if you want.

if your PC is good enough to run it, get it for the PC. ES games always have good mods for them.

If you are more comfortable on 360, probably best to stay with that. If at some point down the road, when Skyrim is $20-30 you could pick it up for PC then. And by then there would be tons of mods, so it wouldn't be just replaying what you've done a hundred times. Just a thought. Me personally I prefer rpgs or any kind on the PC. Which is why I won't be bothering with Dungeon Siege 3. Too bad to, I was looking forward to it. But from what I hear the controls are meant for the console and as a result on the PC it is just unwieldy.

Cheers

I'm an xbox360 player because I don't have a high end pc. Every game I have ever played on pc however is a billion times better.

I really wish I could play Nehrim, one example of why the pc is better

Well I've heard that a lot of people go crazy mod hunting, and forget to enjoy the actual game. i just don't want that to happen with my game. In the console its all about the game itself, and not just looking for whats broken and needs fixing.

What everyone one else has said, play on the PC with a 360 controller, and if you REALLY feel left out not talking to your friends on XBOX Live, you can always turn the console on and talk to them in Party Chat while you play :D I don't know why you'd want to miss the orgism your ears are going to experience when the game first starts up though :D

That isn't all mods do. Most mods I use are quest mods which add more to the game, and sometimes UI mods.

With everyone saying PC, it sounds like the best idea. And I like talking to my friends and asking what they are doing different and bragging to the guys that have to wait till the morning to get their game. Its always an awesome time.

Yeah, u shud game on da PC. But, there is no major difference between the two, I think PC is cheaper, and it has mods so I'd go with that for those advantages.

Not all mods are about "fixing". Most of them add content that the modder thought would be fun in the game. As for mod hunting, you don't need to go crazy with it if you don't want to. I usually only look for cool mods once a month, just to see if there's anything "cool" that would make a cool addition.

As for which system, my advice is to look at the advantages of each system, and decide which advantages you like better.

Get an Xbox360 controller for your PC and hook it up. That way you get the 360 controls and the PC graphics and mods.

Ya, get if for PC an hook up your Xbox Controller if you don't like the keyboard/mouse layout. I just recently got into PC gaming (played some games on PC before but no a lot) and I haven't even touched my PS3 in months. Also mods probably won't be out for a little while either or at least the good ones. So It'll give you time to play through the Vanilla game at least once before you start using mods. I probably won't even look at mods until I have at least 200-300 hours of game play on the vanilla version.

If you have a high-end PC then obviously PC for the graphical superiority and mods.

If you are not interested in neither and/or have a crappy PC the obviously xbox.
