Am I the only one?

Is it me (my computer) that's slow or does everyone see the text they type appear letter by letter about four to ten words behind?

Lately I'll write the whole thing in Notepad and just paste it into the forum editor to post it. This is MUCH faster for me than to type out a line and watch it trickle in like a 300 baud modem. :brokencomputer:

Google chrome here, IE at school, and Firefox on my computer.

I've never had any of the laggy text box problems you've been having, except in the past with a really slow computer on sites like myspace.

The forum update brought tons and tons of unnecessary javascript to the forum, which may cause lag like that. Make sure you're using a browser with good JS performance to avoid this (Chrome's the fastest at the moment, but anything other than IE is good).

That's what it is then... I just blocked gamesas with NOSCRIPT, and the delay vanished immediately.

(I expect I might not be able to use the site well without javascript, but now I know that I can block it while posting ~Big headache removed; Thanks :goodjob:)

*Hey... This posted just fine without javascript, and since I tend to manually type tags anyway, I don't really need the embeded editor; So I'll try a few days blocking javascript, and see how it works. This is great!

Chrome having the fastest JS engine is disputed by the latest Opera builds, Opera also does better at loading Javascripts properly

Edit: to clarify, I meant disputed in the most literal sense. One pulls ahead of the other depending on build and test, no clear victor.

Not for me either but I'm grown fond of Chrome and it's pretty fast here.

Solution found and you might want to note it in our open thread about the new forum update and it's bugs. They've been ironing them out one by one.
