Gears of War-esque executions

Post » Wed Sep 21, 2011 6:57 pm

Sooo... ive been playing the new Gears of War, and i must say there isnt a feeling much better than when you get a hold of someone and keep tapping Y as we rip the arm of an enemy locust and attack him him with his own arm violently, as we mash the button... now yes.. it sounds very primitive, but thats also the theme Skyrim is trying to get across, so do you think we will be able to do any button mashing executions which extend the executions? I was sort of thinking, for example, where DK plunges his blade into the enemys stomach, if we keep tapping the RT button then he will continue to violenlty and continuously thrust his blade unto him multiple times, before stopping and letting him bleed to death... in respect to real Barbarian brutality :P what do you guys think?

Oh God, the flame war that's about to begin... I can feel the heat already...

In all honesty, no. I like the finisher animations, I honestly do. I'd draw the line at button-tapping fatality minigames though. This isn't an over-the-top action game like either GoW franchise (Gears or God of War). There's a time and a place, and Skyrim ain't it.

Nope. I don't think they will have that. I'm pretty sure the finishing moves are automatic and the combat doesn't support that from what I've seen.

I dont see the point of a flame war, Executions are in, no doubt about it, and we know wth only like a month and a half to go that button mashing executions will not be in, so this is merely speculation. No flame needed, but i just felt with the more "mature" theme to Skyrim compared to its predecessors it would be pretty cool i guess.

Umm no I wouldn't like button mashing. I love the fact that finishing moves are automatic so I can just lie back and enjoy the victory instead of brutally torturing my mouse buttons.

Fair enough, I wasn't trying to instigate any flaming myself, although I guess my post could have been quite inflammatory. My answer's still no though :hubbahubba:

I dont mean button SEQUENCE combat by the way! Oh sweet Ysmir NO! I just mean for example if theres an execution for H2H such as the DK grabs the enemys head and knocks him out with one svckerpunch, maybe this can be extended to multiple svcker punches just for the fun of it? Just for the fun of seeing someone face get mashed to bits ^__^

Sounds familiar...

I think someone mentioned a video where the player in Skyrim grabbed a wolf head and wacked him with a axe

The more 'mature' theme? You mean, the better graphics and combat overhaul, because TES has always been a mature game.

This is a game with an open world to explore, radiant AI that offers quests based on your actions, and the opportunity to RP as whomever you want. Gore, dismemberment, carnage...those words have never been associated with TES and I hope they never are.

If you want to role play, play a TES game.

If you want to rip something to shreds, I suggest a therapist.
