BEfore TESS V is there i really want to finish Morrowind.
My old laptop, running on windows XP, is not realy working to good so i want to play Morrowind on my new laptop.
I dont want to restart the game, but rather pick up the game where i left it a while ago.
This gives me the following questions:
  • where do i find the save game file in windows xp and what is it called?
  • where do i store it in Windows 7
  • Do i need patches for windows 7

I tried morrowind out shortly on my new laptop. I cant get the console screen to open using ~. What must i do to get the console working?

PLease help!

1. There is a file in your MW directory called 'Saves' Your saves are there, under whatever you named them, and if you have your computer set to show file extensions, the extension will be .ess

2. You need to store it in an alternate directory, not the default Program Files. Put it in C:\Games or something. I have mine in a TES folder on my desktop

3. You'll need all the game patches that you used for it in XP

If you installed correctly, there should already be a saves folder in the MW directory.

so what do you mean here?
I found the saves folder, i also have all the saves from my old laptop on an external drive. Do i just move them in the saves folder that was made when installing the game? Or do i put them in a folder like you mention above?

I tried to download patches from the official website, but the link is dead. Do you know of an alternative or new download location ?

Thanks again for all your help!
