Skyrim and Ads

Post » Thu Sep 22, 2011 7:11 am

Do you know how fb earns money?
Do you know that Mark is richer than whole Bethseda staff combined.
Some people like me are ready to watch ads, like I do on facebook whole day.
Why do I add fb here?
Skyrim will be mega-popular and that means that many people will have acces to it,and ads seem like a good way to earn money.
And if you do not like ads, just buy skyrim. As simple as that.

Facebook is a social media platform.

Skyrim is a game.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

I'd buy the game in this case. it's like an additional pointless loading screen. I'd pay double or tripple price to have no loading at all, but that's not something you can just go and buy. (unless you buy a good PC or something)

I would just "buy" a million free copies and then sell them for a profit.

$60 isn't alot to part with for something the size and scope of Skyrim. Ads would break up the action too much I feel, even if that worked out for Beth in a financial sense.

Could you imagine being in the middle of a fight with a dragon: You see him start to turn, hit up a few quick potions and prepare to deal some damage. He screams past you breathing fire everywhere and you see your moment to strike and bring down the beast and the game pauses and and add pops up telling you about some exciting new toothpaste?

Talk about Deja Vu. I know I've seen this post before, makes me wonder if the OP had another account on this forum at some point........ I refuse to believe that several people would think of this idea.... It scares me that anyone would like this.

Anyways, it was a terrible idea then, and it still is.

I think your the only person in the world who would do this. Just fork out the 60 bucks (This game is worth triple that IMO) instead of being a cheapskate.

^This.

There is *no* reason to be mean because you don't like the idea. Calling someone a cheapskate, dumb, etc...I'm ashamed to be a member of this forum. :(

I have to agree with this - fortunately I can do something about it if it continues.

And you think you are the smartest one? If that was really an option someone would've done that. But I don't think that it would be profitable for Beth.

The advertising approach would work best for a gaming company who's just starting out and getting off the ground. Next to no one is familiar with their product, so would-be customers are hesitant to sink any money into it. That's not the case here. Bethesda is well-known, and so is :tes:
