Skyrim's DLC discussion.

Post » Thu Sep 22, 2011 2:48 pm

So, as soon as it may be to discuss this, I'd like to hear from you guys what you expect from DLCs. Feel free to pick as many options as you want, but try to focus on the ones that attract you the most. This thread can also be used to critique Oblivion's DLCs and if you'd like Bethesda to follow a different DLC strategy for Skyrim. If you also dream of a very specific DLC, feel free to describe it in detail if you wish. This probably won't attract any sort of attention from relevant people in Bethesda, but it's a nice discussion nonetheless. And let's try not to make this a rant topic. It's supposed to be a friendly discussion, so keep your rivalries to the other threads. ;) Also do tell me if you think another option should be in the poll.

I personally think we could see some faction DLCs, as short as they would be. I love factions myself, and I love the feeling of "belonging" that we get from being part of a faction. As much as I loved the home DLCs (especially Battlehorn and Frostcrag) I think that there were just too many of them. I would very much have preferred to see some different ones. KoTN was the deepest of the DLCs of course, and I hope we get something similar as well, in terms of content, not necessarily a similar story.

I expect little, but I am hoping they turn out like New Vegas, each one a self contained new area with new perks, weapons, armor, companions, and stories that although separate...still link to or progress the overarching story.

That sounds good. A little bit of everything.

If they're going to be as big as Todd has implied, then I want all of the above for the price that size implies we'd have to pay.

Oh? He said they'd be big? I really hope they are. The new homes were kind of disappointing after a while, except maybe for Battlehorn. But the idea of "buy every part and then you're done" is a bit dull to my tastes.
