I just bought this on steam cuz I got tired of the freezing on the PS3 version and kept hearing the PC version was better and more stable. I can't even make it out of goodsprings without the computer freezing or hard crashing. I also had a bug were whenever I opened a container, the game would lag and the colors would go all crazy. Anyone know any possible fixes for this?

Post your dxdiag and let other people see what computer have you got.

To do it if you have W7: Start- Accessories-run and type dxdiag in the box.

I'm having the exact, same problem. Sometimes random elements in the game world will turn solid black after moving between indoor and outdoor levels. People think it's mods, but I have the problem on a completely default installation of Fallout NV with Dead Money, Honest Hearts, NV patched to 1.3.0.452 and a new character started from scratch:

I'm rolling back to my earlier version of New Vegas that worked--mods and all--and will wait till Bethesda learns to make DLCs without destroying the game with all these show-stopping bugs and garbage patches.
