I just wanted to point out that the black screen freeze does occur outside the strip as well, i encountered it going down to the second floor of the hidden valley bunker, though i wasn't trapped, i cleared my cache, reapplied the patch, and i could go in the second floor again - but i did experince some sound cut outs when talking to the brotherhood.

also this was a playthrough i played before the patch came.

I get the black screen freeze any time I try to fast travel. The game also freezes up the whole system if I try to use VATS.

I didn't know you could clear your cache on an XBox. Maybe that'll help. How do you go about doing that? And what might that do to anything else I might have on my XBox if I do that?

i went to system settings and hit the Y button and hit clear cache, be warned it erases all updates to other games as well - wasnt a problem for me since im only playing new vegas right now.

Ah ok cool! I think I'll wait on that 'cause I don't want to wreck the other game updates. =( And I don't want to wreck my boyfriend's Fallout New Vegas. He'll get more mad at the game than I will. haha. But thanks for that. I wish you could choose which updates to uninstall. That'd be great. =)
