I'm Getting Really Worried About these Graphics....

Post » Fri Sep 23, 2011 2:19 pm

And if so you'd think they would warn the players.. Why would Beth even let the public play on the alpha?

I think they did warn them. I would surmise they use that build because it is set up as a "noob demo" build with certain preset stuff. Anyway you don't have to buy before reading the reviews and asking people here about the graphics after release...

Alpha build, they haven't even begun testing for bugs yet.

Then the games not launching on 11.11.11, or it's going to be a buggy mess. They're in beta I believe anyway and if they aren't, they're still bugtesting. The other day vsions said he's just constantly playtesting right now.

My Xbox is relatively new. Its a glossy 250 gig slim.
Oblivion runs just as bad on it as it did on the past TWO Xboxes I've owned. Even on install.
It's generally accepted that 360 Oblivion is a joke, running wise.

We're not gonna see another Elder Scrolls game untill the next-gen comes out.

I noticed in the Quakecon vid, the load times were kind of long. I'm still expecting some framerate drops and pop in, but the game looks miles better than Oblivion.

"Keep in mind this is the same build we used for PAX... we made numerous improvements since." -Gstaff
Disclaimer, I'm not saying it's going to happen with Skyrim,
But the last two major titles I spokes of had the developers saying one thing and delivering something else, both sold on the strength of their predecessors but neither lived up to them in my opinion.

Never had any issues on any of my 3 360s (other than the fact that I had 3 360s, thank you, MS.). Clear your cache.

When hasn't any of these releases been buggy messes? Just a matter of waiting for your patches to get through Q&A.

I encountered barely any bugs in Oblivion.

I'm hoping that with the Creation Engine things will be fine on the 360 as I am also opting for that since I don't have a PC to run it.

I must admit I'm a little worried about how it will run but I'm going to put my faith in Bethesda on this one.

He was also playing on a "stellar" PC. Don't know what that means though.

Would you like me to put up some links from the 30+ hands on preview of the 360 demo that say the same thing?

Oblivion was almost ruined for me because of how poorly it ran on the 360. I don't have the money to afford a high end gaming rig, like some of you guys have, so I;m limited to a console. With all the framerate dips, loads, and pop-up CONSTANTLY in the over world, it destroys immersion on a consistent basis. It seems almost intentional. You're walking along and nothing bad is happening, and you're finally starting to feel immersed, then boom, freeze-popup. It was so annoying. So, in my quest for the Ultimate fantasy RPG, I was disappointed. I moved on to Two Worlds 2, which got ruined for me because it had the worst screen tearing of anything I had ever seen ever. I mean, REALLY bad screen tearing.

I want so bad to finally get my ultimate RPG in Skyrim, but even though gameplay is more important, technical issues really destroy the hold the spell the alleged game is supposed to cast on me, by shattering that reality with graphical errors.

Even though it was reportedly a "June" build, that poster who had 40 minutes of experience with it really has me worried due to the screen tearing and glitches he experienced. What if they SAID it was a June demo just to cover their asses? It looked good when Todd showed us that 30 minute demo....but Idk anymore. I;m really worried they'll drop the ball, but I so don;t want them to....

E-pinions? Should I be worried?

I'm going to have to disagree with you OP. Oblivion ran just fine and never farted even once on any of my 360's. I'm pretty positive that Skyrim will run even better after reading all of the reviews on it.

Yes, they are most certainly bug testing. They wouldn't be going Gold in approximately 4 weeks otherwise.

@OP Oblivion ran fine for me on the 360 and even better on the PS3. I never encountered any game breaking bugs, nor a single lock up either.

Honestly, you have every right to be concerned, but I think the final build on 11.11.11 will be fine. We have many articles saying everything looked even extremely polished for an alpha version and Andrew Reiner from Game Informer said his demo was smooth as can be. Not every journalist is credible, but Reiner definitely is.

I'll agree with that. Reiner is good people, and he is about as objective as can be, so I'll trust him.

All I know is that I will be on pins and needles waiting for my 360 to finish installing the game to the HD... I'm going to be so impatient once I get it in my hands... lol
