I guess nobody can give you accurate info unless they work for Bethesda, in which case they wouldn't be so nuts as to tell you "chill man, there'll be loads of boxes on the shelves 5 months later". If you can afford now, go for it. Better spend now than regret later.

Yeah, I don't think it's going to be so rare that you'll never find one. But I'm guessing with all the hype that people are going to be buying specifically to save it, then throw it up on eBay for big bucks later.

Who do you accuse of perpetrating a lie? Bethesda?

Where have they said that the Collectors Edition will be "ultra rare"?

They've used the term "extremely limited."

 Reverse buyers remorse? I don't think the quote, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do," applies when it comes to video game purchases.

If anyone wants mine I will ship it to them for $1000 via Amazon payments. It's a steal at that price! :liplick:

You won't know until you get the certificate of validity in your CE box... I would expect to see numbers in the 100,000s

"limited" simply means they have a date determined where production will stop.

They are probably making a set number of them and that's it. Months down the line you might still be able to find one on eBay or Amazon or some other online retailer. Occasionally, where I live, local stores will order many more of the collectors edition than they actually sell. There are a lot of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood special editions at my local Best Buy that never sold out. Not to say that that game, although quite good, would be in the same league as Skyrim.

I would suggest if you can beg, borrow or earn the money buy the CE now and be frugal for the next couple months on other things if possible.

I am in Australia, and i attempted to get the official collectors edition within a day of it being announced and was told by three different retailers "YOU'RE DREAMING"

So it appears as though it is ultra rare in Australia

Fortunately some retailers have their own "collectors edition". The one i have purchased comes with a couple of the novels.

Limited insinuates that the length of time they'll be being produced will be much shorter than the production of skyrim. it's possible they'll only produce them for one sector. don't know about bethesda sectors so there you go...

one thing I definately know is that sector svcks and always loses against scorp... oh crap, mind hypotenuse!
