Blocking whilst duel wielding?

Post » Sat Sep 24, 2011 9:07 am

So as we expected the left trigger controls your left hand and the right trigger controls your right hand; does this mean if you're duel wielding anything besides the classic sword and shield you wont be able to block?
Sorry if i've missed an interview or thread that's already explained this.

You can't block while dual wielding.

I don't find it particularly realistic that you can't block while dual wielding... Unless you were being ironic :)

No blocking. Dual wielding is supposed to be a purely offensive style. You get two weapon perks and two enchanted weapons to maximize your potential. It makes sense you have to sacrifice something.

If you see a sword fighter of almost any kind with two swords in his hands in real life, you can be assured that he is going to be constantly using both for blocking.

Not being able to block while dual wielding is not based on reality at all. It's the polar opposite of how dual wielding works in the real world. Not that I care if it works like the real world.

Real world aside - the latest from the EXPOs seems to confirm worst about dual wielding. Pure button mashing. If that's your cup of tea then have at it. For me it is a huge opportunity missed.

it's not button mashing... trust me. just some people button mash sometimes. doesn't mean it's the only way to use it. I mean moving in and out, left and right, aiming past shields, waiting for them to power strike to dodge and power attack yourself.
