More Dragon Types Confirmed

Post » Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:01 pm

Another loading screen highlight was the dragons, apparently green-skinned dragons (which look more serpentine, with an almost amphibious headcrest) are tougher than the white- and bronze-skinned versions.
- thanks Crustacean for the great info. If you want to read more, here's his hands-on thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1232971-eurogame-expo-11/

Being that we only know of 2 types thus far, I considered this a great revelation and great news.
I'm assuming that the "white dragon" is the Frost Dragon, but we now know of a "Bronze" and a "Green" dragon as well.

Another quote by The Crustacean:
Just to clarify in case of confusion, the dragon still had legs and all that, but was nonetheless very distinctive visibly. It was a goldy kind of green.

So the description thus far is: Serpentine, with an almost amphibious headcrest with a gold/green skin-tone.

What sort of abilities (dragon shouts) do you speculate the dragon will have?

And this "amphibious headcrest"- Are we talking webbed fin-like features?

Maybe Venom Spells or its a Spriggantype Dragon who can resurrect himself 3times that would be lame...^^

I was thinking poison as well. But the resurrection would be a challenging twist.

I just hope that there are more dragon shouts than what they have discussed so far. I would hate to find out they ruined all of the surprise already for us. Oh and off topic: I am disappointed in you for changing your ranger character race to a Dunmer from Bosmer.

I usually prefer a more serpentine design for dragons so that's good to know. I'm quite surprised because I just figured different dragon 'types' would just be different colours or something.

Lol, I've always had a Dunmer ranger. Blame it on the "Drizzt Influence."

I wonder what the amphibious headcrest looks like.

I forgot about Peryite. I wonder if a lot of people would get him confused with one of Alduin's Jills

Well if it is aquatic, poison and or lightning I should think. Sounds cool, regardless. Glad the dragons aren't all just palette swaps.

*ed* Peryite is a good point...but Disease as a weapon? It'd be nice if the disease system was that much improved.

Sounds cool, the more types the better. Maybe this is already known and I missed it but, will different types stick to different habitats? For example are you more likely to find frost dragons at higher altitudes and maybe this serpent near water?

Serpentine Dragon more than likely has a gas clown type breath. Very nice.

I loved the different dragons in the old gold box D&D games for PC. The metalic dragons were all good (Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold) and all breathed fire. The evil dragons were Red (breathed fire), White (cold), Green (poison clouds), Black (acid) and Blue (lightning). I really liked how each colour was a separate breed (different size, ran in groups or was always solo, different breath weapons, etc.) Sounds like we may be getting some version of that almost? So excited!

Based on the description i'd say the shoe definitely seems to fit.

i maybe Peryite's diseases are more debilitating than that of your standard Tamrielic barmaid ;)

Peryite is not a dragon of any sort, he just resembles one. And he's a Deadric prince and should not be aligned with Akatosh in any way.

Also I assume white-skinned are frost and bronze-skinned are fire, so it's only a confirmation of one new kind. Good news nonetheless, hopefully there'll be like 4-5 kinds of dragons and a few unique ones that play part in the main quest.
