Dragons aren't going to scriptied..

Post » Sat Sep 24, 2011 7:02 am

I just Remembered that dragons aren't going to scripted and Todd even said that not all Dragons will be aggressive. Now there is a script for when the appear in game but after that nothing dictates their individual actions. I assume they would explore what the can do. I mean A dragon can just literally fly by and ignore you or attack a creature in front and then just fly off and since they have a language they will probably attempt communication with you every now and again. So if you actually draged the main quest on log enough they could become True AI. Then again i might just be over thinking this, but this is a very good thing to talk about.

Umm... No.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the dragon's AI isn't going to be some crazy-awesome-super intelligence system. It will likely be better relative to the other creatures/NPCs, but the dragon's will still follow a more or less set way of doing things, with a little bit of randomness thrown in.

I get where your coming from and have thought a little of the same. But I believe they already are a "True" AI as though they sren't scripted they basically have free will to do what they want. But like the other guy said it not just out there crazy. There are guidlines to their behavior I believe.

When Todd said "unscripted" he didn't mean in the code context.

From a code perspective, Dragons probably have a wider range of inputs and outputs than other creatures.

Uh oh, we're going to have the dragons become ghosts in the machines and start controlling all our electronic equipment and eventually enslave humanity!

Well, if they are working a lot of overtime and they are scriptied well enough, I guess they could learn... or at least get time and a half... geez.

Troll

Responding to a somewhat ridiculous notion with a joke makes me a troll? Also, it's apparently against the rules to call people troll, so I'd lay off the accusations.

All the non scripted means is the dragons aren't all going to be placed by a quest trigger or be location specific, it basically means they will have a chance to appear randomly from any spawn (under my assumption).
