Dual Wielding Tactics

Post » Sat Sep 24, 2011 7:10 am

Hi All

I was thinking about the logic of the use of dual wielding if we have no blocking and I think I know it...

Let's say you go sword and sword - they're the same, you're not complimenting your weapons you're just doing twice as much damage.

axe and a dagger - the axe causes lots of blood loss aka: keeps them dieing over long periods for less - the dagger cannot be blocked. Now, you're a guy with a shield or not - if you're blocking, you're being stabbed repeatedly with a dagger, if you're fighting - you're being battered with an axe in a way which will keep you losing health for a long time.

That's what i mean by complimentary. I feel daggers are going to be very useful to the dual weilder.. power in one hand, unblockable swiftness in the other..

What dual wielded weapons can you think would be complimentary?

What are the sources for such weapon properties? I mean, axe causing bleed (should be sword IMO), dual sword being pure damage and etc..
Or you are just making this up?

I think dual wield will be complimentary to something else, no blocking will be suicide against groups of enemies

They've released a bit of information about perks, including bleed damage from axes, increased critical strike chance from swords and ignoring armor with daggers.

Isn't it ignoring armor with maces? I think we got nothing on daggers yet. Someone has to check the Sneak perks.

Sorry, that's right. Maces ignore armor.

Isn't "ignoring armor" the armor defense rating and not ignoring an actual shield?

I guess so. I think I read somewhere that you can't block with daggers, but I can't verify. Anyways, I think it's actually not very useful to wield a dagger in a combination with something else unless you seek to sneak attack.

Are you sure? I will be very happy if this is true.
