Sounds like the author's pissed with Bethesda for some reason. To be honest that was a ridiculous article, it looks like he's clutching at straws to try and find reasons to promote DS over Skyrim. I could easily counter argue his 5 reasons, to be honest most people could and most of his assumptions are purely based on speculation and hearsay, very poor indeed.

I was too naive to believe the 'reviews are biased' stuff until I saw IGN's review and rating of Dragon Age 2.

So, basically what you are saying is Skyrim is a cardboard box? :D

...yes. that's exactly what I was saying. Lol :P

I just made an account on ign just to complain, was the stupidest article i have ever seen - the games are so different there is no point comparing them they are both good for different reasons but i am gonna have to say Skyrim will be the overall better game AND i wont break controllers while playing it , you will need at least 2 replacements if u want to complete dark souls.....

Both will be great.
Play both.
Etc.

Only a really devoted fan would even dare to believe that Skyrim will absolutely blow Dark souls out of the water, because that's just stupid.

Maybe the article was a joke, if it was intentionally inflammatory then well... they certainly succeeded. And got some people to sign up it seems.

This is the most biased article I have ever read. I'm officially done with ign.

I switched over to them from Gamespot when they (GS) somehow managed to not give Bioshock a 10 (or at least a 9.5, I mean give me a break, Bioshock is about as close as you can get to video game perfection).

Now where the hell am I gonna go? lol. 1UP's been pretty good in the past...

I really don't see what's supposed to be good about Dark Souls besides difficulty. The games looks reeeeeeeaaaaally boring.

It probably is. Just like Demon's Souls, navigate narrow corridors for hours and make sure not to get hit once by anything, or else you have to do it all over again, AND loose all your souls(xp).
Not to mention the confined areas that makes Doom look like a freeroam openworld game. REALLY depressing :P

 i wont go near that game. i've mentioned it before, one of the main reasons i love
TES is because; IT IS 1st PERSON AND IT IS OPEN WORLD. it's as simple as that for me.

i got a funny feeling the guy who wrote that review was majorly biased, not only that
but i couldn't help but feel that he was intentionally 'out' to get bethesda. it's ike
almost there's too much hype and excitment for skyrim and these ign guys wanted to
throw a spanner in the works and shift the attention onto other titles. aint going to work on me anyway.
as soon as skyrim comes out i wont be buying a game until hitman. skyrim will do ely for a good couple of years
with the different ways i'm gonna play it { dead is dead......EJECT.......restart.!!!!}

ah well, easy to spot someone who's not truely a lover of TES isn't it.

 ely

I will never take anything Casey Lynch from IGN says serious, ever again...ever. That is probably the dumbest comparison I've ever seen!

Or believe that Dark Souls will "eat Skyrim's face" right?
