Why is there not an online Arena mode in Skyrim?

As the topic says, Why is there not an online Arena mode in Skyrim? it would be great to have a kind of gladiatorial arena such as in Oblivion, which could have an online mode, and fight against their friends and test their skills. While there had been a great opportunity and be able to brag and show off their characters. They do not need to made Skyrim/ any TES game, to an MMO. But just that to be able to exercise battles against others in an arena had filled more than enough my needs.

And Todd said to IGN of multiplayer, Q: "The two most requested features we get are dragons and multiplayer. We got one of them this time," he said to IGN. "We always look into multiplayer, put lots of ideas on the whiteboard and it always loses. It's not that we don't like it. I can think of ways it would be a lot of fun. At the end of the day, that dev time is going to take away from doing the best single-player game we can, and that's where our hearts are."

In my opinion it is really not such a problem, and sounds more like a slightly poor excuse. can not imagine that it would be too much work to create an online feature in an arena mode, but what do I know.? maby it is ..
Or do they only the save it to the next TES game in the series, as a kind of sales tricks .. see it for myself "wow look at this! this game Have a brand new feature ONLINE mode" .. is a bit skeptical as to why they exclude it from skyrim then. :sadvaultboy:

What do you think, would it be too much for them too pull off?

Because Bethesda doesn't want to.

You want the game to be delayed until next year? Really, multiplayer puts a huge strain on the development team and resources.

Multiplayer is main stream. Also multiplayer doesnt fit the TES games, you are the hero not a group of heroes.

Your answer is right there.

They'd much rather focus -and a lot of fans would rather they did too- on the single player aspect, rather than try and bolt on a multiplayer mode. Especially as multiplayer is something they have little experience with.

Also, haven't you had, like half a dozen mutiplayer threads locked so far? Or am I thinking of someone with a similar name?

Make the game playable first, worry about multiplayer later.

Well, from what I know, there isn't even going to be a single player arena. So multiplayer arena definitely won't happen. I agree though, a multiplayer arena would be awesome. The only problem is exploits. I have a character on the 360 who won't lose against a PC player with God Mode enabled. How do you kill someone with over 100% reflect damage and spell?

Waste of time IMO. Also, it would most likely be a bug/exploit contest as opposed to a game of skill.
