Slaanesh's Blender Questions

Post » Mon Sep 26, 2011 6:03 am

Alright, so instead of making many threads, I'm just gunna make one with all my questions in it. So, here it goes.

1) Simply, how do I zoom in?

2) How do I select a face and expand the vertices in equal measures?

3) I've made a model in EDIT Mode, but when I got back to OBJECT MODE, it's still a wireframe, not the silver model. What's up with that?

1) Use mouse wheel

2) Use http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/3874/faceselect.jpg mode to select faces. Then you can [G]rab or [E]xtrude them, holding down Ctrl shile doing it wil move it in steps.

3) Maybe try clicking [Z]?

Edit: of course I mean Ctrl, not Shift.

Awesome, that fixed everything :D Although, I don't have a mousewheel. I'll have to find an alternative

EDIT: New question. How do I select multiple vertices at a time without using Shift+RMB?

Pushing [B] will allow you to select verticles using drawn box (just like selecting objets in Windows), pushing it the second time allows to "paint-select" verts with a brush like tool. Edit: you control the brush sile with Ctrl-mouse wheel or ctrl-+/-.

About the mousewheel - are you using mouse without whel, or are you on laptop? Some laptop touchpad have "scroll" at the right edge of the pad, where you can scroll up and down. Edit: I just tried it and you can zoom using heypad plus and minus.

The +/- works perfectly! Thanks :D

And Thanks, I knew there was a way because I'd done it before, I just couldn't remember.

Can someone explain to me how to make a plane with textures on both sides, like tapestries are? Or does it automatically do that when you UVMap it?

Need to attach a texture to both sides. Don't know how Blender does it (hate it) but I'm guessing you group both sides. and attatch the texture to them.
