Bloodgrass...

Hello! I'm new to these forums, and generally new to the Elder Scrolls Lore, even though I have been playing for quite a while. With the Upcoming release of Skyrim, it caused me to go back to Oblivion and Morrowind and replay it. Before recently, I didn't read the ingame books, however, at one point I was role-playing a scholar character, and it seemed fitting to read the ingame books. Eventually, I came across A Dance In Fire. Something piqued my curiosity. The Meat Mandate and the Green Pact. I really enjoyed this series, and found these two properties of the Bosmer really interesting, so I have researched more.

Today, I started roleplaying a new character, Bragor, a Wood-Elf Eco-Terrorist, who destroys people who have anything to do with the destruction of forrests. All was going fine until it occured to me; What IS bloodgrass. Can Bragor eat it? It seems to be a plant, but the title 'Blood' threw me off. Then it occured to me, could a Vegetarian eat it? I've roleplayed a Vegetarian before, and he ate it fine. But before now, I had never really thought about it from this other angle. Can a Carnivore eat Bloodgrass? It seems logical that he can't, but within the realm of Oblivion, anything is possible.

Awaiting your thoughts, Jetroid.

Olav's Tap and Track is missing the door from the inside.

For future reference, how may I find the IDs myself?

Technically Bosmer don't really care about the meat-mandate outside of Valenwood. Thus your character /could/ eat plant-life from outside of Valenwood and not be breaking the pact. I could be wrong of course.

To directly answer your question though, nothing really seems to imply that Blood-Grass are more animal than plant. It might just be easier to avoid eating them, since they are from the deadlands and can't be very appetizing.

No, I think you're right. It was in the PGE. It's just the Valenwood plantlife that can't be harvested, by Bosmer.

And I don't know what Bloodgrass actually is. I doubt that it is meat.

@Murandus: I have heard of this, indeed, but I believe that Bragor should follow the Meat Mandate, as it makes this roleplay more interesting. Thanks for your opinion though!

@PeteAtoms: If it isn't meat, I'll avoid it. Thanks.
