Would you sacrifice real dynamic shadows, for getting rain t

Post » Mon Sep 26, 2011 10:23 am

I really don't think that there is any kind of sacrifice.

But then again, the rain falling through eaves, porches and such never really mattered or bothered me. So I guess you could say that I don't really care.

I don't know, I personally wouldn't change anything about the game.

 This is Skyrim....

Last time I checked, SNOW is more prevalent there.... Therefore, it is more important than rain...

There will always be shadows. There won't always be rain.

Therefore shadows > rain.

exactly.

rain under a roof is pretty rare in skyrim, i assume. most indoors, as said before, will be seperate cells behind loading screens.
shadows, however, contribute a lot to the fidelaty of the scene and exist everywhere.
if there WAS a connection between rain and shadow i'd take shadows over rain. but i dont see any relations.
we will have to endure the rare occasion where rain (and probably snow) will fall through solid objects.

What is this? Some kind of silly questions contest? Ok, I'll do the next one:

Would you sacrifice magic for melee combat?

That's a gameplay mechanic question, which doesn't have anything to do with the visual component of the game. And besides, the game would be broken if it were missing either of those. In the OP's question, however, you can play just fine without either rain contact or dynamic shadows.

The point was the question itself made no sense, as rain collision and dynamic shadows have nothing to do with it. Phitt merely posed that "question" to show how ridiculous the original question was.

Never noticed the rain in any game before people on the forum cried about it.

Then I cared for 3 seconds, went on with my game and never noticed it again.
