Precision nailing?

Post » Mon Sep 26, 2011 9:59 am

Something ive been wondering since playing LR.

Why does the Nailer have iron sights? Of all the weapons in the whole game, the Nailer, a pre-war construction tool, has iron sights, and yet, some actual guns don't have any?

Its not game breaking or something I'm pissed off about. It just seems a little silly and i was curious as to the logic behind it since you would never be doing long range nailing for obvious safety reasons.

And please don't give me the "Its a game, not reality" reply.

The nail guns I have all have three raised lines simmilar to sights. They are used to let you know where the nail is going to go when you have the safety plunger pushed down. so sights are not un believeable cause there has to be some way to let the person know using it has it lined up and the nail is going where they want it to.

I know you won't like this, but I do believe it was just added for the purpose of gameplay. Yet again, the H&H Nail Gun is very different from our world Nail Guns. I've never seen a Nail Gun that is quiet and is rapid-fire.

Well, considering this weapon was by H&H tools, and consider thier practices at the office, you can throw "safety" out the window. Why it has an iron sight? All the better to hit what you are wanting to aim i guess, even for contruction.

I wouldnt doubt there is some sort of aiming... thing, though iron sights seems... unfitting? They only work for longer ranges and not point blank since they are slightly off set from where the barrel actually is.

If it were for gameplay, then what about weapons like the laser pistol? which is an actual gun. They took the time to give the hunding rifle and plasma rifle iron sights, but seemed to "miss" the laser weapons.

@Silvester: That does make sense. I didnt quite think about the rapid fire nature of a nail gun either.

I don't know about that. I doubt they intentionally wanted it that way. I'm sure if they had more time, they would make iron sights for the Laser Rifle and Pistol.
