Does Bethesda listen to the forums?

Good devs know how to listen selectively, as online forums are often populated by the vocal minorities of a game's fanbase.

Yes they read it. And no they don't listen to suggestions - thank god for that.

Morrowind reskinned wouldn't do voery well, many here want a rehash.

I hate to be a naysayer, but I don't think they do. After all they continuously do stupid crap like blocking off parts of the world with unclimbable mountains, dumbing down the game in terms of weapon and armour types, and creating generic NPCs instead of people you can actually talk to and have names.
If they'd spent some time on the forums they'd realise the things that we like and don't like. For example, why go and restrict the player's exploration when they know that being able to 'go wherever you want whenever you want' is one of our most cherished values of the series? Oh that's right, they don't know because they don't pay attention to us.

1. U can still get around mountains....also the demo is near the most mountainous part of skyrims map (literally next to high hrothgar) also morrowind used the same "invisible walls" with ghost gate
2.armor and weapons have been greatly expanded as far as different types
Not only are there new sets but now there are multiple versions of old favorites
(best example think the deadric armor sets in morrowind)
3. NPC's are greatly improved...they act more lifelike even if some are named "citizen"
In one hands on play a person shot an innocent women with an arrow and a man ran to her aid asking how bad she was hurt and then she started limping off sincerely begging for her life. NPC's are more aware and have greatly improved voice acting...

However i do respect your opinion
I just thought u were misinformed b/c i myself wouldnt make those complaints after reading that information

Thanks man, great points. I feel a tad better now. I still don't like the idea of generic NPCs that we can't talk to, because even though Oblivion NPCs didn't act lifelike it was still great to just be able to ask them about their lives and rumours.
I'm a bit worried about the mountain thing though, as I do NOT want to have to follow set paths through the world, even if it is in a specific area.

M'aiq the Liar is an example of how they listen to the forums.
