Vampirism / Porphyric Hemophilia

Post » Mon Sep 26, 2011 8:17 pm

I just found it odd in Oblivion that no matter how much you fed on someone, you could never pass on the disease, yet all it took for you to contract it was to take a hit off a vampire.

Anyway, wouldn't it be cool to be able to turn other people into vampires - for example if you have companions, you can do it to make them stronger.
Or if you need to assassinate someone, you could turn them into a vampire when they sleep, then when they carry out their daily routine the sunlight would kill them.

No, I'm getting this nagging feeling that vampires are going to be as incredibly stupid as they were in Oblivion -- even worse for Skyrim, due to engine and graphical improvements.

I'm not sure about that OP.
Did you ever partially feed on a victim and return later to see the results?

Not another vampire/werewolf thread

Too me, it sounds a bit silly turning everyone in Skyrim into a huge army of vampires even though that would be awesome.

I know. How dare they make threads to talk about something that's important to them about the game?

And that's exactly why it would be awesome. Imagine turning everyone in a town, and having the entire town switch it's schedule so everything takes place at night instead. That'd be something.

it would ruin the game... youd end up turning everyone into a vamp after long
(and on that note, the way you SHOULD turn into a vampire is to have your own blood drained, and then feed on a vampires blood... (no i didnt get this from twi[censored]))

Probably not. The AI would be dumb and all the vampires villagers would just go walk outside in the middle of the day, melting in the sunlight while talking about how they saw a vampire the other day. ;)

I never went back to check... was there a difference?

And I think it'd be awesome OP!!! I would love to have the chance to turn NPC's into my own Undead Legion!!!

It would be a cool feature, but far too much work for a small addition to such a huge game. People would also then expect new 'Holy [censored], I'm a vampire' dialogues and stuff from pretty much every person you could infect. Vampirism itself is already kind of an 'extra'.

Probably not... but since companionship is a feature to the game, perhaps you could become companion to another vampire if you are one yourself?? Just a guess.

Would be kinda cool, turning it into a town of beasts. I probably wont do it, but I wouldn't mind the option.

I doubt this would happen. it would complicate mechanics and the AI too much for very little gain. Good idea for a mod though.....

Actually I would prefer if turning someone to a vampire takes an effort.

Like feeding on one person over the course of three nights and while also feeding him an increasing amount of your blood. Then on the last night you drain him completely so he dies... and wakes as a blood thirsty beast that will kill and drain the closest human only to regain his mind after 3 days later and found the body of his wife and children drained husks on the floor.

1) A new vampire will go beserk for 3 days. Most likely getting discovered and killed unless special care is taken to ensure his meals are taken care off. This makes vampires much more exclusive then pink-eye bandits.
2) Something like this will involve a quest specifically to be a vampire. And also involves choosing your victims who will become your meal. Fun to be had all around.
3) The number of vampires should be small enough that each is very powerful, just a bit lower than a lich should be. Else the whole prince of darkness thing is just false advertisemant.
4) You can turn your spouse without also turning your whole neighborhood everytime you are hungry.
5) Lastly, on the above suggestion of a vampire town. Without powerful vampires, it's just another pinkeye bandit camp. With a true vampire town, when the player discovers their secret, it will be a OH SHIIIIIT moment.

I'm wondering what will happen if you become a vamp and go home to your husband/wife. Will they recognise the difference, and would they leave you for it, or attack you?
I doubt you'd be able to turn just anyone, but what about the option to turn your spouse or companion?

They probably still have good loot though!!! :celebration:

Did the vampires in Morrowin turn into dust when you killed them? I can't remember, and I know it's in the lore for them.
