Gamestar Cover Story (German)

Post » Tue Sep 27, 2011 5:06 am

I just had the chance to read the German 14 page cover story. There aren't a lot of new things, and those that are are probably false. Anyway.

Huge story spoiler below.
Spoiler

After the death of the high king, Skyrim's holds are reigned by Elves, presumably to avoid conflict between the Nordic tribes.

Other nonsense:
- Throwing knives! (yeah, as if)
- Increase 10 skills to get a level-up (probably not true)
- Dunmer racial power: Highborn, regenerates all Magicka
- 14 dungeon designers were working on Skyrim (we only heard of 8 earlier, not sure about this)
- Kids ask you to play with them
- Inventory is awful to use
- graphics are held back by consoles (no sh*t, sherlock)

Screens are the same we saw in OXM.

Well, that's it. Not much, but thought I should share anyway.

It's not specifically a PC mag, but I think most of their readers are PC players, so they know who they're talking to.

some one should twete pete that list and see what he says about it.

He'll say the same he always says about foreign articles. "If it doesn't sound true, it usually isn't."

woops! wonder what sparked socrates' interest in this thread. :)

lol. Well, at least, I got to see the screens in better quality. There was a tiny screen with the aurora borealis and the frozen sea of ghosts underneath. Although it was really small, it looked great.

Considering they have the screens, they have to have had them directly from Bethesda, and they have to had hands on playtime (with main quest on) with Skyrim (same as OXM).

I giggled when I read it, if it were true, it'd be a twist worthy of Shyamalan.

I highly doubt any of this is true except the Dunmer power---which sounds more like an Altmer power.

Why is the little quest about kids playing catch with the Dragonborn "nonsense"? I agree on throwing knives and Dunmer "Highborn" (Seriously, logic fail...) skill though. Ten skill-ups per level-up sounds kind of right for the beginning. Could only tilt my head about the spoilered bit. I don't think they got that one right.
