OBLIVION MOD?

Post » Tue Sep 27, 2011 10:37 am

Does anyone think that there will be a redone version of oblivion, as a mod to skyrim? sorta like what people did with oblivion by putting the whole morrowind game into it with enhanced graphics and everything. also does anybody know how long it would take to make such a thing?

It's possible, although such a project would take many long hours to complete...

Overhaul mods are a lot of effort and take a significant amount of time. While it won't be impossible to do, it will take a long time, but I'm sure it would be well-worth playing if someone does create one.

Nearly every hardcoe TES fan hated Oblivion so I don't see it as being on of the more popular mods. Expect a more detailed version of Morrowind though.

Even if that is true, it isn't because of the province it's set in. A remake of Cyrodiil would be awesome.

Fixed

I still enjoy the Elswyer mod, the amount of work that went into it is incredible, plus it's more area to explore, I really hope to see similar with Skyrim by the time I get bored playing.

Heck redo the both and add into the game with quests and all
If you are going to lose 200+ hours into a mod why not lose more 600?

Those so-called "hardcoe" TES fans ( ) are probably going to absolutely loathe Skyrim, and won't bother making mods for it in the first place.

You realise that for more than just legal reasons, they can't just port Cyrodiil to Skyrim, right?
1. Different engine, built from the ground up.
2. Different scale. Gamewise, Skyrim and Oblivion are about the same size, but lorewise, Cyrodiil is much larger than Skyrim. Ergo, modders would have to build Cyrodiil from scratch, and make it much larger than it was in Oblivion.

Please don't assume your opinion is the majority's as well. I've played every TES game and I love Oblivion.

What about this "Oblivion Fifth Anniversary Edition"? will you be able to see skyrim in it?

To match up on the scale and map Cyrodill would have to be something like 40 square kilometers as they blew up Skyrim's size compared to the map size of the two places.

It would take a long time, but if modders could use all the art assets from the game and mods it would be doable.
