I like forming my character. Not picking a name from a list for him.

Yeah you mean, old class system, or no class system? I dont get why people prefer the old way. Here are you two options: Pick 7 skills, and be locked into those as your primary skills for the entire game. Or, use whatever feels right to you, and that is a main skill.

Seriously.

I have a really good feeling about the new system but I really have to try it out before I can judge.

Poll is a landslide  New system is less about restrictions and more about customization. Getting rid of majors/minors, adding in interchangeable Gordian Stones, and the amazing perks and we have ourselves the best system yet.

Did not vote we need a system that gives us the freedom to be who we want without restrictions we need the old skills for more diversity maybe some new ones, we need the attributes back to work with the perks and the skill and then we will have even more freedom.

I've been mapping out my new Morrowind character for over three hours :cryvaultboy: I'm extremely precise about these things which is why I am very excited for the new system. With the new system I don't have to waste all this time planning....I can actually play the damn game!

You didn't have to use the list of classes. So if you did, you must've liked it.

I assume that you mean "be what you do" as in you are totally defined by your skills, instead of your genetics or the environment in which you were brought up, or the career/class that you have pursued. I think they've done an excellent job of fleshing out skills in this new game, however, I really feel that they are missing out of a critical element of what defines a character by leaving out attributes and classes. I'm not saying that their previous attempts at making classes and attributes were wonderful.. but it was something they should have improved upon instead of removed.

I like Daggerfall's way.

Daggerfall did have a really cool in depth character creation. you had like 12 skills to choose, not to mention "advantages" and "disadvantages", and reputation. Not only that, but you "rolled" for your attributes score, and you could even sacrifice an attribute to buff up another. who needs intelligence if you are a barbaric warrior?

though for me, and i've thought about it kind of a lot, it goes:

New>Daggerfall>Morrwind=Oblivion

I think Morrowind and Oblivion are basically equal, if i had to pick one, I'd go with Morrowind, probably just because there wasn't a whole dungeon to go through before you pick your class like in Oblivion.

only played Arena once, I forget how the creation process worked.
