The sixism that people are displaying on here is scary.

Well let me go ahead and make a joke about how someone of a different ethnicity or religion is inferior to my personal ethnicity or religion. Do you think that would fly? sixism is just as offensive.

So offensive lol? You just got done posting...

They should have a "relationship" status and perk tree. You have to have good communication with your wife and keep a happy marriage. And the skill perks are things like, "Wife will keep the house 25% cleaner when you are gone."

Yes, I know you said it was sarcasm, but if you find it so offensive you wouldn't even kid around like that.

Happens all the time, there are a countless number of TV shows that should have been cancelled because of these things, but they aren't, in fact they are very popular. It's because people know it's in good fun.

This.

Also, I haven't noticed it at all.

Also, get over it. It's ridiculous how personally people take things these days. "Oh my god! Someone said a slightly misogynistic joke on the internet, they must have meant it as a personal attack on me and my beliefs!" Honestly, grow up.

You think I'M the one that needs to grow up? Making sixist and racist jokes is so immature. When you grow up some day you will realize just how dumb all that is. You probably think it's funny to act gay around your straight friends to make them feel uncomfortable too, huh?

In a funny sort of way I find it reassuring to have a cross section of what at least some people REALLY think. It prevents me from viewing humanity through rose-colored glasses.

I'll admit that after playing MMOs for a number of years that I was in little danger of that tho. Much of humanity is a sewer when they aren't trying to be on their best behavior.

I'd link to a certain episode of Penny Arcade, but it likely wouldn't pass muster with the forum's content restrictions.

All believability just went out the window.

Technically I should be offended, by your standards.

The point of that post wasn't to make a sixist joke. It was to jokingly compare Skyrim to a game like "The Sims" where people actually care about relationships and crap like that that has no place in Skyrim.

I don't mean to seem harsh, but making threads 'complaining' about other people's comments isn't the best way to go about it. You can always report that person/thread to a moderator. But all in all, I think they're mostly joking.

Skyrim is a game where people live vicariously through their character, so that they can do cool things they've always wanted to do, like kill a dragon and jump off mountains and stuff like that.

That's one reason why the really inappropriate comments on here are really bothering.

It seems like you can't have a topic without someone saying something along the lines of, "My wife better stay in the kitchen or she gets a flamethrower to the face," or "Can't wait to get back from a long quest and have my wife make me some food, or else I teach her a lesson."

It's bad enough to joke about it, and I can't believe those posts don't get deleted, considering how strict this board is already you would think something as offensive as blatant sixism would not be tolerated.

But I pray that people don't go around roleplaying in the game someone who abuses their wife because they want to live out these urges that they want to do in real life but don't want to get arrested for.

For me this falls under the lines of political correctnes and how much that whole notion has crippled this nation.

Ill be the first guy to laugh at a good black/mexican/woman joke because thats what they are. Jokes. But at the sane time I will defend like crazy any injustice against said peoples (all other races included.

Ppl need tochill there is a difference to making a joke about a womans place and actualy forcing her into that place.

To op I hope ur not serious with ur ot because if u let petty things like words ruin ur forum fun then u must have a depressive situation.

So it all boils down to you not liking the relationships in Skyrim.

Your method of coping is to say that it's a way to let people realize fantasies of being the abuser in abusive relationships.

And you're using us to further your beliefs so that you can sort-of seal it air-tight.

Neat.
