You should use this for info about the ES series: http://www.uesp.net

And look at the lore and learn some info about the series so when Skyrim comes nothing will be confusing.

Why would I hate you? It's good your planning to get Skyrim. I doubt I could tell you anything about the game you didn't already know.

Why should we hate you? And what to expect?

Well...first thing you should know about TES games is that it's an open world. You'll be given a starting quest, but after that you're on your own. Feel free to explore, find other quests, start the main quest, dungeon dive, it's completely up to you. There is no right or wrong way to do things.

The other thing to remember is that TES is not easy- you'll have to level your skills to be a decent fighter/mage/thief/whatever, so don't be disappointed when you can't burn down entire villages at level 2. Many many hours of gameplay are required to become godlike. Don't be discouraged, just use your skills! A LOT. :)

And come back whenever you have questions. As you can see with Morrowind and Oblivion, there are several specialized forums full of crazy fans just waiting to answer your questions on where that cave is, why that NPC won't talk to you, or how to level that skill. Use the community and eventually you'll become part of it.

One of us...one of us...

1) No, we wouldn't hate you.
2) Would it matter if anyone on these forums did? We're just random names on a forum.

Like everyone else, I think we'll all be glad to have you to discuss the game with.

No different than any of us. Each game is unique and stands on it's own two feet, so just go in and do whatever you want.

hmm, yeah he sold it to me :D hehe, but yeah, the elder scrolls are huuuuuge games, so expect to be a little confused(in a good way) about what you should do. Start slow, and take your time with the game. I guess like in Oblivion bethesda will give a hint to where you should go first so take it from there. After you have learned how the game works, you just explore and do whatever you want to :)

still time to go check out previous games... month and a half is plenty of time if you install a TV/sonsole next to the toilet, a food-slot in the door and lock yourself in the bathroom so that you remain mostly undisturbed. ;)

It's much less offensive to not have played a TES game before than it is to post nonsense topics.

Okay Now that im "one of you guys" heres a little disscussion"

Do you think that there will be later on a co-op mode coming in the form of downloadable content? it wouldn't be the first time that's happened to a game.

Everybody has to start somewhere. I would play the game before reading much of the lore to make sure it draws you in. Then look up some of the things you're interested in, or figures you want to know more about. They'll reference the history of the world all over the place, so take the opportunity to look deeper whenever you want.

Nope. Bethesda can't get multiplayer to work right, I doubt that it will happen.
