Overhauled Skyrim

So we've seen the mod potential in both previous TES installments. Today I overhauled Morrowind and it looks better than Oblivion! Screenshots taken by myself :

So looking at those screenshots, do you think that Skyrim's graphical mods will let Skyrim look like The Witcher 2 or some something like that?

Very nice screens!

I think it's a shame that developers don't use computers full power to make modern graphics.

We've not even played the vanilla game yet. Yeah things like that will happen for those with decent PC's etc.But i think it's bit premature to be honest, and lacks a bit of respect for the original game, which we haven't seen the final version of.

It looks good yes, but does Skyrim need the best graphics ever? No.

Not really no. Overhauled Morrowind runs at a mere 15-20 fps (though It actually runs smooth) so I can only imagine how my PC will fare with Overhauled Skyrim. Just discussing the future of Skyrim, gotta see the big picture :)

No I do not mean any disrespect to Skyrim. It looks stunning and I'm actually very excited for it, in fact that's why I Overhauled Morrowind and decided to give it another go. As I said, discussing the possibilities with Skyrim.

There's nothing wrong with speculating about mod potential.

I was actually thinking about the same thing earlier today. Remember in Oblivion when you first emerged from the sewers to that awesome view? The first time that happened it was truly breath-taking. 2-years after that it seemed pretty unimpressive. I wonder if, on November 11, 2013, Skyrim will be as drop-dead gorgeous as it was the first time we've all played it. I doubt it - but there's nothing wrong with that. Game look more aged as time goes by.

And no, games don't live and die by their visual quality, but once you've been through the story, seen everything there is to see, it probably won't look as great.

That being said, I expect BIG things from talented modders down the road - 4096x4096 textures, fixing tiling effect, better grass, better water - everything will look even better than vanilla. I hope it looks so good I'll have to update my PC's hardware.

But yes, I'll be more than happy with how Skyrim looks out of the box.

Agreed. Skyrim actually looks much better than Oblivion IMO, can't believe that it's on the same console generation as Oblivion! I bet when the new generation consoles come out we'll have difficulties distinguishing games from movies :P

1. I like skyrims graphics
2. I think they could be better
3. Why wouldnt I want something improved upon?

I'd love to see some graphic's mods come out. Just like I'll use other mods, doesnt mean I dont "respect" the original game or anything. I love TES because its meant to be modded.

What texture packs are you using for Morrowind?
