Lonesome Road map

Don't know if there's an explanation, didnt see any post... Why is the map turned east-west? Tickling me... teleporting and so... The entry is opposite to... the entry...
I guess developpers have an explenation ( not sure it satisfies me), but what are your toughts?

Why is the map flipped, horizontally?

You exit from the west of the mojave (Canyon wreckage), but you enter through the east of the divide.

east? west? north? south? isn't there a problem with the silo entrence and exit? with Ulysse saying "walk west" as you walk east? c'mon guys...
