Skyrim's Weirdness

Post » Thu Sep 29, 2011 12:20 am

So in Morrowind we've seen mushroom towns, lots of giant mushrooms scattered around Morrowind, underwater caves, towns like http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Tel_Branora who look really weird yet mystical and give that 'you're a stranger in a strange place' vibe, if you know what I mean. Oblivion wasn't any of this, places were really 'normal looking', maybe because of the great amount of Imperial influence in Cryodiil. Now todd had said,

With Oblivion, we’re dealing with the capital province, and we wanted to get back to the more classic Arena and Daggerfall feel of a fantasy world that felt more refined and welcoming. A place that you instantly understood. But in that, we sacrificed some of what made Morrowind special; the wonder of discovery.”

The aim this time around is “trying to bring some of that back and walk the line between Morrowind and Oblivion. Where it’s at first familiar looking, but has its own unique culture and spin on it.

So this means that Skyrim will have a bit of both worlds :) It's already been confirmed that
Spoiler

Dwemer Ruins
Dwemer Animunucli like Steam Centurion and Sphere Centurion

I'm not expecting much more than the Dwemer ruins and the Falmer.

I'd like 100% weirdness, I'm expecting something around 25%.
