I either read or heard somewhere that while doing the last quest for the Grey Fox (stealing the elder scroll), when you jump down the chute in the battle mages room, because of the long fall the Springheel Jac boots will be destroyed and therefor lost?? Not wanting to lose them, I didn't wear them when I did that quest and come to find out they are the best boots in my inventory. NOW IT IS SOO MUCH EASIER CLIMBING AND JUMPING UP THE EMBANKMENTS TO THE TOWERS IN THE OBLIVION GATES..

Anddd the point of this post issss ?

Yes you are supposed to loose them if you wear them and jump down however you can survive if u catch the edge of a ledge half way down, and then heal up and fall the rest OR if you have nigh enuf acrobatics
