I only have 20 minutes so I pick a Nord

Enemies can activate traps

Another enemy walks tentatively up to a lever in the middle of the room. He pulls it and the inevitable booby trap cuts him down with a hail of arrows. Glad it wasn’t me.

The line moves up – another 20 minutes and it’ll be my turn to be jacked in. I decide to watch a guy who seems to know what he’s doing. He runs to the nearest village, draws his bow, and shoots an innocent woman in the face. 15 minutes later, the guy turns round grinning like a child who had just been told it’s raining Skittles outside. The village had no survivors. Finally, the line moves round, and it’s my turn.

Why would a enemy activate a trap which would kill them, perhaps sparing the deadly fate of the awesome Dovahkiin.

The article is not badly written. It is written in a deliberately conversational tone, which is harder to pull off than it seems. The author also put the word "thingy" in italics, which is a bit of an ironic wink to the reader.
