Types of quests that you hope are in Skyrim

What type of quest would you like to see in Skyrim?

For me, I liked the Raven Rock quest from the Morrowind Bloodmoon expansion, where you helped a settlement to grow from bare roots, and turn into a thriving town, that you could own a house in. I also liked the Cropsford quest line from Oblivion, where you helped a small group of settlers who were trying to build their homes on land that, unbeknownst to them until it was too late, was amidst a goblin tribe war. I hope there will be a quest line like that where you can see a settlement grow up, because you helped them. Or vice versa, where you hurt the settlement in some way that made it so it didn't grow like it could have.

What about you?

(Edited because I called the settlement by the wrong name. D'oh!)

I liked the Tenpenny Tower quest from FO3.
Spoiler
It really tests if your character is good or not. It kept annoying me to see that karma popup thing to say if you were making the good choices or not - but it shows how things might not always go as planned and how sometimes being the big hero where everything works out isn't possible. After that quest on my very first character, whom was trying to pick all the moral choices, went back to the Tower afterwords and found the state it was in...he actually went on a rampage and killed everyone.

It really added to my character's depth. Instead of being the good-guy, he kinda changed and grew because of that quest. I'd like those kind of quests, ones that show you that this is the real world and things don't always work out for the best. So that characters can't be good without being tested, and on some characters they cross that line even though you didn't mean for it when you began.

Things I have not thought of, by that I mean a quest where I finish saying, "wow i've never done that before."

Spoiler
Are you talking about the quest where you can help the ghouls get into the tower? Or the one where you blow up Megaton?

I believe it's called simply Tenpenny Tower.
Spoiler
The one where you deal with the ghouls trying to get into the tower. If you talk to each side, and convince those who don't like to leave, the ghouls will enter the tower with no conflict. But a few days later when you return, the human's who were left there are no where to be found and only ghouls are walking around. When you ask about it, Roy - the leader ghoul - said there was a disagreement so they killed off all the humans and gave them to the ferals in the basemant to eat. After that happened the first time, I thought about how my character would react - and I came to the conclution that all these ghouls needed to die. It really changed my character who was trying to make all the morally correct choices to one who did who he and he alone thought was the right thing to do - which wasn't always the "good way".

I want a "Dragonslayer for hire" quest.

One of the various towns is willing to offer you payment if you deal with a particular dragon that's been causing them problems.

Ah, right. I had chosen that option in one of my playthroughs, and I didn't like what happened there, either. I had the same reaction you did. :)
