Your Character's Weapon...

Post » Thu Sep 29, 2011 10:51 pm

Many of us who are Role-Playing, have already mapped out our character. Everything from what class they're going to be, to the physical features of their character.
We've figured out what weapons we want for our character, but what I want to know is:

How does your weapon help define your character?

My answer: My Nord, Kalibor WInd-Walker is going to dual-wield maces. I wanted a character that is both Fierce and Brutal. I thought about using swords or axes, but it didn't give me that 'brutality' I was looking for as a warrior. Dual-wielding gives me that 'swift as an assassin' vibe I want for him.

Well i'm on edge rather i want to do Faren first or maybe a stealth character. I always have done Stealth Characters, but never a mage or a warrior, they never interested me before, but they do now.

So my Warrior will use mainly a Sword and Shield, occasionally dual wielding blades. My stealth will use mainly Daggers for stealth assassinations & a bow and arrow as this is how i always play.

Hmm, My character typically uses swords, destruction magic, and heavy summon support. She also carries a Warhammer when she really needs to hit hard. Essentially, my character is a purely offensive fighter who prefers to finish a fight quickly by overwhelming the foe with too many attacks to counter. I guess that could be interpreted to mean that she prefers a swift solution to problem solving.

Does it say anything different to you?

Im really considering playing as a Unorthadox Knight, that is wear full plate armour but have no shield, instead I will duel wield with a Sword & Mace or Duel Hammers.

My second playing style im considering is to be like a ring wraith. Wearing Black robes and weilding a very strong longsword... that would be pretty sweet.

Weapons never define my characters. I will specialize in swords at the beginning, but once it is mastered, I will begin using primarily bows. Upon mastering bows, my character will then switch to destruction magic. My first character has preset career paths, all lined up in sequence.

I'd love to see my dual-wielding maces have a unique finisher that would include the two maces coming together, using someone's skull as a buffer.

Lol I love how when I see these topics i instantly know it was created by Fryisi!

For my first character a ranger Argonian he made extra money as a hunter for his farming family so he's a great bowman. He also fancies a combo of a curved shortsword and poisoned dagger because it is fast, light, and quick.

But my second character's weapon is much more interesting. I won't go into detail but hes a bit psychopathic and found out (through use) that his great grandfather's sword was none other than Umbra! At the realization that his great grandfather was a powerful Necromancer my little Breton decided to take up the hobby. Sadly (or maybe not) when he was finally caught in High Rock guards managed to take it from him in the chaos and literally disappeared into thin air before all their eyes when taken from him. So now in Skyrim a big goal of my Necromancer is to recover Umbra and become an even more feared Necro than his great-grandfather.

He's a vile menace to society and I think Umbra is the perfect weapon for such a person.

Neat thread. My Redguard (Ishmael Alik'r) will be a warrior who uses two-handed weaponry. If there are any weapons that resemble a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhomphaia, then that's what I'll be using. Either way, two-handed swords for sure.

For me, it reflects two ideologies that Ishmael has taken to heart: traditional Redguard martial ideology (I'd insist that they're the best swordsmen on Tamriel), and the Akaviri notion that if you don't want to be injured in a fight...don't get hit. I don't intend to be like a turtle and use a shield for self defense, nor do I intend to be a wild berserker: finesse with the blade will be my mantra. That, and agility. Avoid getting hit rather than blocking attacks, and then attack quickly and viciously.

My character Akraz will weild a sword and shield. He will be agile, sneaky, and good at picking locks. He will be very much like an assassin but with a touch of warrior. He will prefer shadow but if seen he will hold his ground against pure warriors, not only will he be good with blocking and blade but he will be versed in restoration and alteration as well as having a steady supply of potions and offensive type magic scrolls, such as summon ghost, zombie, etc. and destruction type scrolls.
And to top it all off he will be a vampire :mohawk:
