Every race is apparently having its own racial armor. Depending on race I intend to try and use an armor which I feel suits that character's race

I always start with Nord (not just because its Skyrim as I always have in previous) so I'm expecting to be quite lucky in choice of armor types.

After my first character I usually start using different races and I design characters built around that race and try to choose racial based equipment.

my second character is probably going to be a Khajiit so I hoping for a good Khajiit style armor that I can upgrade and make great. I'll have to wait and see.


As for Orcs I always use Orcish armor and Bosmer I tend to use Elven armor. Imperial I tend to go Imperial, Glass or Ebony (I imagine companies who are primarily Imperial run control the mines and export / import the ore)

I was curious what race other were playing with and do they have an armor they intend to use.

I dont think you get to pick armor at the start

You don't get armour at the very beginning, and I don't think that EVERY race has their own armour.

My first character will be a Breton mage, so unless the Breton armor is really cool and robe-like, I won't use it. I imagine it to be a robe with one steel pauldron.

oh ok. I thought it was confirm some time back that every race gets an armor type. Orcs already have their own so they are already 100% catered for. Why not a few others? Nords have a past filled with war and many seem to work as armorers in previous games. The dark green colored Nord chainmail armor in Bloodmoon was a great armor.

I'm hoping for a Khajiit armor. I don't feel right with my Khajiit in Imperial, Orcish, Elven etc. Something more Indian / Arabian looking with a large curved sword would be great. I'm really into the Khajiit lore. I think they are an interesting race. A light armored Khajiit swordman / archer / thief / hassassin named Ra'ja-Hajiit is my plan for second character

An Argonian armor would be nice too. In Morrowind my Argonian wore Dreugh armor as it seemed perfect for them - I'm guessing water resistant as the dreugh live in water and it didn't have a face cover or lower body which Argonians couldn't wear during that game - it looked crap on all other races.

I can't imagine Bosmer massively being into armor making hence me steering toward them using Elven (I used to think Elven was basically Ayleid / Wild Elven armor due to Ayleid artifact being pieces of Elven armor, but I'no idea now. The last of the Aylied fled to Valenwood).

...The best armour I happen to have at the time?

I wish to be using my racial armor, but if it's not good looking or way inferior to some other armor, I'm afraid I might be forced to choose another armor instead :<
