I doubt this feature is in Skyrim but

You know I have no doubt that helmets look cooler this time around seeing that Skyrim is based off of Nordic methology but I would love to see a Helmet toggle. Quite frankly the helmets in Oblivion looked horrible and I didn't even use them because I'd rather see the face that I created for my character. Now with Skyrim the helmets will look cooler but I probably won't wear a helmet due to me wanting to see my characters face, I'm probably not alone with that line of thinking.

Unfortuately Skyrim may punish me for not wearing a helmet due to some of the Heavy Armor perks that Sammu revealed earlier this week that say you need a set of armor to complete the bonus, that's Helmet, Chest, gloves, and Boots, Light armor will probably be similar as well. I'm not saying that's a completely bad thing but I wouldn't mind a Helmet toggle so that I can still look at my characters face but still gain the advantage of a hood being on or a helm without the helm/hood covering up my characters face. I doubt it's in Skyrim but I wouldn't mind having that option there.

I thought of slightly the same thing, concerning hoods though. I would love if you could togggle hoods from fully covering your head, to draqed on your neck. But it's more than likely not in Skyrim. :\

I always preferred having a hood on my character. With armour, it always made them look bad ass.

Could be that robes have the draqed hood on them by default and hoods cover it when equipped.

Well its a trade off do you want more armor and not see your face or you want more armor. Helmet toggles are weird to me like in dragon age have something equipped and get all its benefits but its not there

I'd love a helmet toggle and some kind of unarmoured head perk for the light / heavy armour trees.

In past games, I've never gone with a full armour set. Because it just looks odd for my character.
I'll do the same with Skyrim. i.e. find some decent main armour and get a hood or just show hair.

The some perks may require a full set to be activated. Those could add up to be quite huge, just take a look at the Heavy Armor perk list.

On the other hand, it MIGHT still work if you don't wear any armor other than heavy armor and have atleast one piece.

The one that requires a full set will have to be a full set meaning I will need to wear Helmet, Gloves, Chest, and Boots.

That's why it's a heavy armor perk. You should be required to be in full heavy armor.

Just do what I will do. I already walk around with my helmet off in Morrowind and Oblivion but I keep it hotkeyed so that when I enter combat and my character decides it's time to don his helmet I can quickly put it on.

I've never worn a helmet in an Elder Scrolls game. And I can't see myself wearing one in Skyrim either. The idea of toggling armor to make it look invisible while still getting the benefits from wearing the armor feels like cheating to me.

Only one wearing a helmet will be my Knight Elmfrid, but she takes it off when in the hospitality of a village or city.
