Nielsen Ranking

Post » Fri Sep 30, 2011 11:20 am

Apparently Nielsen also ranks interest in video games. Here is a list of the upcoming holiday games:

http://nexus404.com/Blog/2011/09/29/nielsen-ranks-the-most-wanted-games-of-the-holiday-season-modern-warfare-3-tops-nielsens-list-of-most-wanted-games-this-holiday-season-gears-3-skyrim-make-an-appearance-as-well/

I find it hard to believe that Skyrim was beaten by Just Dance 3 or doesn't top the list.

I'd venture that the Xbox market place is probably the one of the most accurate numbers we could possibly obtain. Skyrim is #1.

The actual Nielsen site has Skyrim at number 3 so I am not sure about the above results

Now why does this kind of response not surprise me, I could not help but laugh, no offense intended.

Winner: Skyrim!

 It's a niche game.

Game Informer had Skyrim above 30%. It was a landslide. Second place was Batman at 14%.

@RunningBare Come on. GI had a poll asking gamers and it was a landslide.

Nielsen does all the tv ratings so that the tv companies know how much to charge for commercial time. Apparently they do other things

Nielson invented the TV show rating system. When it started it used boxes places in 1000 homes across America. Now that every thing is tied to the internet, cable and satellite companies feed viewer statistics directly to them by monitoring and recording exactly what channel are being displayed on their receivers at any given time.

I hate the Nielsen ratings. A lot of my favorite shows are off the air because of their stupid system.

Well, that just goes to show you how much less sophisticated society is.

Skyrim is a sophisticated game...

I'm glad I'm a sophisticated gamer
