I heard that the GOTY version of Fallout3 would work for W7, so I went and bought it on Steam. I still can't get it to work properly!
It crashes after just a few minutes, if I'm lucky I can play 2 minutes at a time before the screen freezes and I have to ctrl+alt+del my way out.

I've tried the following:
Running in compatibility mode for XP SP3
Disabling UAC
Disabling AERO in Windows
Disabling desktop themes
Disabling 3D sounds
Verifying the game cashe
Disabling the secondary screen

I've tried all of these together too, but to no success. Does anyone know anything that might help, or do I need to downgrade to Windows XP just to play this game?
